SpiritVale – Summoner Guide

Summoner Guide for Beginners

The Summoner is a hybrid caster and pet class. Your own spells scale differently from your minions, making it important to understand what affects each.

Summoner Spell Mechanics

Damage Type

Summoner skills are magic spells.

They benefit from:

  • Magic Damage %
  • ATK
  • MATK
  • STR
  • INT

They do not benefit from:

  • Melee Damage %
  • Ranged Damage %

Element

All Summoner spells are Neutral by default and inherit the element of your equipped weapon.

Examples:

  • Fire weapon → Soul Strike deals Fire damage.
  • Fields and Dissonance Well also inherit your weapon’s element.

This allows you to freely change your spell element by switching weapons.

Stat Scaling

Summoner spells scale from:

  • ATK
  • MATK
  • STR
  • INT

Recommended caster stat distribution:

StatValue
INT99
STR99
DEX50
VIT50–55
AGI1
LUK1

Minion Mechanics

What Minions Inherit

Minions inherit 100% of all item-based stats, including:

  • Attack Speed
  • Elemental Damage %
  • Skill Damage
  • Auto-cast chance
  • Artifact bonuses
  • Neutral skill bonuses
  • Equipment effects

In short, almost every bonus provided by equipment is transferred to your minions.

Base Stats Are Not Inherited

Only stats granted by equipment are inherited.

Example:

INT 99 +20
  • 99 = Base stat (not inherited)
  • +20 = Gear bonus (inherited)

Weapon Element

Minions inherit your weapon element.

Their basic attacks adopt your weapon’s element, allowing you to freely change their elemental damage by changing weapons.

Some abilities also inherit your weapon element.

Example:

  • Golden Hammer + Dog Bowwow Card → Fire Soul Strike autocast
  • Wolf abilities (Twin Cleave, Shadow Step, Shadow Release) become Fire element.

Some pet-exclusive skills retain their original element.

Example:

  • Cat’s Lightning Bolt and Lightning Release always remain Wind.

Pet Spell Scaling

Minion spells do not scale from STR or INT.

Only the base ATK/MATK scaling shown on the skill applies.

Example:

100% MATK + ATK per level
+2% MATK/ATK per INT

Only the first (white) value is used by minions.

Because of this, increasing STR or INT has relatively little effect on pet damage.

For pet builds, prioritize:

  • Skill Damage %
  • Elemental Damage %
  • Attack Speed

Range

The only stat minions never inherit is attack range.

All minions always fight in melee range.

Recommended Leveling Stats

Early progression:

  • INT → 50
  • STR → 50
  • If survivability is an issue, raise VIT to 50.

Final recommended stats:

StatValue
INT99
STR99
VIT55
DEX50
AGI1
LUK1

Recommended Skills

Choose one primary minion.

Good early options:

  • Wolf
  • Cat

Other options:

Heal and Haste are useful early, although many endgame builds obtain Lv.5 versions through cards.
