Intro

Find yourself boarding lots of enemy craft and looting everything that is not nailed down, only to struggle over the risk/reward of trying to smuggle in all the contraband items to the trade authority, just for that pesky contraband scan to catch you red handed? Well worry no more. All it takes is a little bit of base building and it’ll be easy to slip by and sell all the ill gotten gains you have and afford all the high price items and upgrades you wish.

Setup

The setup process

  • Step 1: Unlock outpost building, easy to do as the main story gives you the ability after you join Constellation.
  • Step 2: Establish an outpost on the same planet as the location of the trade authority which has contraband scans. Easy to do, open your scanner and select the bottom of the screen prompt to set up the beacon, for this purpose you don’t need to worry about were any resource veins are or if the geography is flat. Then build however many storage crates or similar decorations that act as inventories anywhere you please.

The Method

Smuggling with no effort: Now that you have your drop off point set, what you need to do is once you zone into the space orbit of the planet, before the contraband scan has a chance to do it’s thing in full, open your menu. Then navigate to your map of the system. Pick out your created outpost and warp down to it. Then offload all your contraband into your containers, Enter your ship and get back up into orbit. Now with cargo and inventory clear of any contraband you’ll get a clean scan permitting you to enter the city up until you leave the planet for another or the system entirely. Now you’re free to warp back down to your stash and fast travel into the city proper, make your way to the local trade authority and sell to your heart’s content.

Conclusion

Now loot and sell to your heart’s content and invest those perk points you might otherwise wherever you please. Happy hunting!
