The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Pactur Won’t Sell You That Last Bit of Land? Try This!

Hey! Achievement hunter here and I have been wanting to perfect Skyrim for a long time now, such a fantastic game. Until I found out that dummy Pactur that chicken noodle sh*t head would not sell me the land for Winstad Manor.

I tried everything I found online. Nothing worked. This is a bug no one fixed for years or found any way around besides hacks or restarting the save file.

But then… I found the fix.

How to Fix

All credit goes to Neko-Neko !

I was so sad. I knew that there are hacks and glitches in Skyrim that usually can fix a lot of these kinda bugs, and even mod the game to make it totally new and stuff. But this is my first ever play through, I played for about 100 hours now and I wanted to complete it vanilla, without using any exploits.

Thanks to the b*tchy little nugget head Pactur, I turned off the game and even Steam for a long while, not wanting to play anymore. I spent literal hours searching and searching online but no one had a fix aside from:

  1. Starting over
  2. Using an exploit

Neither of which I wanted to do… I was way too far in my save to start again and way too… Unwilling to use hacks and whatnot. That just ain’t me. I love challenging games and ACTUALLY getting good at them.

“Git Gud!”

As Hornet from Hollow Knight would say…

I tried everything I found online including hacks except for one (loading someone else’s save into my save file and just doing the quest from there)… I tried the NPC reset console command, and doing a bunch of other side quests. I tried typing in a console command to tell the game that I did the quest? I tried beating the sh*t outta Pactur with my war hammer looking thing. I was getting hopeless. Until I became desperate… Desperate enough to think about heading over to… Nexus mods… They have the files there…

And then I found the fix. Sadly I do not have it on recording.

Now… To fix this dum dum bug of pactur that noodle piece of a sh*t head not selling that dummy land.

Be warned, this does have the involvement of a glitch/hack/exploit. I Was Desperate Ok.

Requirements (These were the things my game had or did not have, I have no idea if this can even be replicated again but I am writing this because if it works… Heck yeah)

You finished the war – Obviously, otherwise how would you get Pactur that piece of entitled shi***

You don’t have the Land Baron achievement? I didn’t so… I guess you won’t because that literal piece of soggy cardboard doesn’t sell!

General understanding of the location of your Skyrim saves and how to navigate your saves in Skyrim itself.

That’s it.

  1. Even sh*t at this point is more useful than Pactur, it can be used as manure and fertiliser.
  2. Prepare to head over to the site I mentioned earlier, if you didn’t read, its called Nexus Mods. I ain’t giving links, ya’ll have Google and fingers to type. If you do not I am sorry for assuming.
  3. Now… If you search for Skyrim Achievements, you will be able to find something. What you gotta do is find the Hearthfire file and download that manually. No need for their other stuff, just click manual download and it should work.
  4. Extract this wherever you want. Now go in the folder and you should see the Land Baron achievement which is a little white file or something and then a note/text file which has the same name but in there it tells you what you gotta do.
  5. Copy the Land Baron file, not the text file into your Skyrim saves folder. If you are a pillow head like me… I got you. Open File Explorer. Head to Documents, then click My Games. Find Skyrim then click it and then Saves. Ta Dah!
  6. Open Skyrim, your game from Steam. Hit load file and go all the way to the bottom. I have around 300 saves so… If I did it so can you.
  7. The file is literally called: Land Baron. Open it. Walk forward and talk to the dude to buy the land. It should work and you should get the achievement: Land Baron.
  8. Do not save but quit the game normally. Go back into your Skyrim saves and remove the Land Baron file you pasted in there before.
  9. Open your game again and head to your usual save. You know, the one you levelled up in and have a wife/husband and kids in? Yeah get in and get over to Pactur’s stupid little ar*se. (I’m British, I don’t say a*s).
  10. Talk to him. Buy the land.

Hooray! Now you can build and decorate the final house!

  1. I find it funny that they had this bugged in Skyrim SE, when it worked fine in old Skyrim. I got it on my first character in the OG Skyrim with in 20 to 30 hours.
