The Matchless Kungfu – Crafting Skills Guide

Guide to Crafting Skills

This might help.

  • Weave – find a loom or build your own and craft clothing/armor pieces (up to guru level).
  • Forge – find a smithy or build your own and craft weapon (up to guru level).
  • Tame – fight animals and tame them (up to guru level).
  • Geomany/Thievery – lockpick doors (up to guru level).
  • Cooking – find a bonfire or build your own and cook meat (up to guru level).
  • Music – find a music house and play the zheng (musical instrument).
  • Crafting – press Z key and craft stuff (up to guru level).

This applies to most if not all the other skills as well…

Getting skills past Guru requires the player to find NPCs that specializes in the skill(s). For example, see my screen shots. Some NPCs have only one skills he/she can teach you to advance it by 5% increment and there is a cooldown timer (approximately 2 minutes). You have to follow the NPC around and talk to him/her for a total of 20 times to advance most of the guru skills up to sage level.

Fist, Palm, Kicks, Conceal weapon, Sword – use them in fights (up to sage level).

Ocassionally, there will be NPCs running up to you, telling you how they have secret information and prompt you to ask about information on how to reach the sage level of one of the production categories. Following your choice, you’ll be prompted to expand your world by 1 tile.

The area added to your world that way was originally supposed to feature a NPC, who’s a master of the craft you inquired about, in the secret information dialogue. Said NPC was meant to help you reach the sage level in their respective craft.

Unfortunately, the whole thing’s currently bugged in the English version and the game won’t add the correct NPC for this process. Apparently, you can get around the bug by temporarily changing the game to chinese. Alternatively, do the talking thingy the previous post describes. Though, ideally you want to find mutiple NPCs with the ability you’re trying to level and cycle between them.
