There are loads of places around there in the volcano area.

Start up near the wreak, looking at it – then do an about face and head down the center of the sandy area, pass Xiodan’s abandoned second shelter (it will be on your right), and continue roughly straight on, tacking slightly right near the end into a little hollow with a huge obsidian crystal in the middle of it.

There’s oodles of obsidian just laying about, and a fair bit of super-alloy as well. The mines always work well plunked just in front of the big obsidian crystal. Happy mining!

Note: If you know where the obsidian field are then just find the crashed ship and look for the quite large open area (sand dunes)… just build a FOB there and plop down some extractors…
