Low on Trees? Having a Hard Time Getting More?
Trees Have Four Different Stages:
- Stage 1 is the smallest, and you can use the shovel to dig them up and you’ll get a sprout in your inventory. Or you can let it grow!
- Stage 2 is the second smallest, removing these give you nothing and will just waste a tree.
- Stage 3 is the adult stage, you can chop them up at this stage
- Stage 4 is the max stage, this will give you a chance at the most resources <- best time to chop it down
Is There a Difference in Trees?
Nope! The trees will all give about the same chance at drops. However, like previously stated, there is a difference in stages. Stage 4 will give around double the drops.
For example, you should be getting around 30-36 or so items for 5 stage 4 trees regardless if it’s acacia, chestnut, or oak.
I Don’t Have Anymore Trees Left, Help!
Don’t fret, you will ALWAYS have trees growing, so if you’ve cut down everything, then you’ll need to wait.
- The map will always grow a certain amount of trees if there’s none on the map.
- Best strategy for a tree farm: split up the area in parts (I typically just do North and South because that’s the easiest). Keep one half clear of trees and the other half plant the trees.
- The reason for this is because the more trees you have, the more trees will appear.
- So the best tip: don’t chop down adult trees right away, wait a few days so that it can generate new sprouts around it!
Make sure your sawmill is maximized (see below how) as that will allow you to get more out of your wood when making planks or firewood (which you’ll want increased if you use firewood to make coal).
Increasing your Crafting XP upgrade will increase crafting yields to a maximum of 200% (or double the yields).
Maximizing Work Zones
Finding that your lacking on some resources? Try making sure that your zones are maximized to make the most out of your resources!
There’s a few items that give you buffs inside your work zones:
- Block Stockpile: reduction of the cost of stone block in the working area (stone workshop)
- Coal Stockpile: fuel cost in area: -1 (smelter)
- Firewood Stockpile: extra bonus firewood in the working area (sawmill)
- Forging Tank: time reduction in working area: 10% (smelter)
- Plank Stockpile: extra bonus wooden planks in the working area (sawmill)
Notes:
- Same work zones can combine and buffs stack as well!
- Chests can be placed inside work zones to free up inventory space, however they cannot be split between different zones.
