UBOAT – Torpedoes Don’t Move after Leaving the Tube [Solved]

How to Solve Torpedoes Don’t Move after Leaving the Tube Issue

It is not a bug. There is a fairly logical explanation for this and a way to avoid such a problem. Read more in this guide.

The Problem

If you have performed full maintenance on all of them and have a good detonator, moreover, you don’t even use a magnetic one, but for some reason, after you fire, the torpedoes fly only 2 meters and then do not move to the target.

Explained and Solved

I’ve seen this happen to me most often during choppy seas and the reasoning i’m giving myself is that the tubes are out of the water as the uboat rises and falls in the swell.

As a result, i have found much better results (far fewer duds) while running decks awash for launching torpedoes.

Another factor is the speed your uboat is moving, as running at flank speed will make it harder for the torpedo to clear the tube and it will mangle its prop on the outer hull of your ship.

I believe this is what is being modelled and along with releasing the torpedo into air, is causing real duds not bugs.

So it probably won’t happen unless you launch the torpedoes while driving at full speed or in 3rd gear.
