Arena of Kings – Keybinds & Options Guide

Guide to Keybinds & Options

Keybinds

I think it’s very important to have keybinds for your teammates for faster and more secure targeting. If you only target your teammates with your left-click, it can often happen that you mistarget an enemy instead that was sitting on top of your ally, potentially using an important CD on yourself instead. I’d suggest you start with teammate keybinds and once you have the hang of that try using keybinds for your enemies too, since just like with your allies, targeting with tab can take ages until you target the one you wanted, or misclick with your mouse which can be crucial if you team needs a well timed CC spell or follow up damage from you!

I suggest rebinding every spell starting from 5-6. I rarely use my mouse at all to play AoK currently unless playing melee(Right click to move), completely depending on my keybinds.

As an example here are my keybinds :

  • Ability 1: 1
  • Ability 2: 2
  • Ability 3: 3
  • Ability 4: 4
  • Ability 5: 5
  • Ability 6: Q
  • Ability 7: E
  • Ability 8: F
  • Trinket: R
  • Target self: Ctrl
  • Meditate: Y (QWERTZ keyboard layout)
  • Target Ally 1: Mouse wheel up
  • Target Ally 2: Mouse wheel down

Options

Make sure to check out the Options file that’s located in your AoK folder which is normally installed at:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arena of Kings

This may vary depending on where you usually install your steam games too.

Within the Options file you can create custom Unit frames which are useful if you can’t get the hang of looking at the bottom of your screen constantly for information.

Here are some examples for custom unit frames:
