Deskrawl: Idle ARPG – C7 Inferno Mage 1-Minute Speed Farm Guide

C7 Inferno Mage 1-Minute Speed Farm and Leaderboard Build

This build is designed for farming C7 Inferno in approximately 1 minute with the Mage class and for pushing the leaderboard. Where the optimal setup differs between speed farming and leaderboard pushing, the differences are noted in the relevant item descriptions.

The stats below are listed in order of importance, with 1 being the most important and 4 the least important.

The build also has several minimum requirements. If you do not meet them, alternative item options can be used to reach the required thresholds.

Minimum Build Requirements

Mana on Kill

You need at least 2 Mana on Kill stats, providing approximately 30 Mana on Kill.

If your damage is low, you may need 3 Mana on Kill stats. Alternatively, you can use Naga or Squid.

Cooldown Reduction

You need at least 40% Cooldown Reduction (CDR).

Although Lightning Storm is described as a skill without CDR, CDR is important because of how the skill interacts with its hidden internal cooldown.

Required Legendary Items

The three important legendary items are:

  • Elemental Burst Pauldron
  • Greaves of the Arcane Edge
  • Stormcaller Gauntlets

With very strong gear, these items are not strictly necessary, but they significantly affect clear time.

Skills

The build uses:

  • Lightning Storm
  • Flame Aura

Flame Aura is used because of a range interaction with Lightning Storm.

At the moment, Flame Aura has the largest area of effect among the Mage skills. There is a bug with Lightning Storm that allows it to use Flame Aura’s range to hit enemies off-screen. This is used to speed up clears.

The skill itself can slightly slow down clear times, but the range interaction is used to improve the overall clear.

Why Cooldown Reduction Is Used With Lightning Storm

Lightning Storm has an internal cooldown that is not displayed.

With 0% CDR and only Lightning Storm, the character can attack, move slightly, attack again, and repeat this process until the enemies are killed or the character gets close enough to them.

This is not an attack speed issue. Because of the Flame Aura range bug, the other skill, the basic attack, does not have enough range to attack the enemies from the position where Lightning Storm is hitting them. The character therefore has to move closer to the enemies to use the basic attack.

At approximately 40% CDR, the character stops moving in this way. The internal cooldown of Lightning Storm becomes low enough that the skill’s animation is longer than the skill’s internal cooldown.

Higher CDR can be used, up to 85%, but it is not necessary. The difference compared with 40% to 50% CDR is very small.

The interaction can be summarized as follows:

  • More CDR allows Lightning Storm to be used more frequently.
  • This effectively gives Lightning Storm more attack frequency.
  • Higher attack frequency allows enemies to be killed faster.
  • Faster kills result in faster clear times.

More testing is needed to determine exactly how Attack Speed affects Lightning Storm. With strong gear that allows enemies to be killed in one hit, the current testing shows very small differences in clear time. For this reason, Attack Speed is prioritized lower in the gear recommendations.
