Forza Motorsport – Supported Wheels and Devices

Official Info: Supported Wheels and Devices

This is Critical: Before you play Forza Motorsport, make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your wheel.

Turn 10 and Xbox have worked closely with several of the largest wheel manufacturers to bring you the best force feedback. Some of these manufacturers have released driver and firmware updates in response to this work.

This is not limited to PC users: If you are playing on Xbox, you should also make sure your drivers and firmware are up to date by connecting your wheel to a PC or laptop and downloading the latest drivers and firmware for your wheel from the manufacturer’s website. Failure to install the correct drivers will result in the game not recognizing the wheel or recognizing the wheel incorrectly.

Xbox compatible devices on PC: Force feedback devices running in Xbox mode on PC are not supported. You must install the correct drivers and put your device in PC mode.

Please note that some devices will report the same product ID on PC regardless of the currently installed rim accessory. The game will attempt to recognize your device and map the buttons correctly. In some cases, you may have to change the layout to the correct layout for your rim from the Input menu.

Multi-USB

Multi-USB is supported in Forza Motorsport. If you are using multiple devices with separate USB ports, the game may not automatically recognize them, or may only recognize one. For example, your wheel may work, but your pedals may not. You may need to create a custom wheel profile within the game if you are using multiple devices, or if you have the devices plugged into separate USB ports. The game won’t automatically map them unless they are directly connected.

We recommend that you avoid using USB switches. Rather, use dedicated USB 3.0 ports on your PC. Avoid unplugging and plugging back in your wheel to USB 3.0 ports while the game is running. Some wheels have been known to generate an erroneous VIDPID (Vendor ID, Product ID for USB devices) when this happens. For your wheel to work properly with the game, it must have the correct VIDPID associated with it.
