Genshin Impact – Elegance Unimpeded / TCG Deck to Defeat Qingzhou

Special Adventure Challenge Genius Invokation TCG Duel

Сrеdit gоеs to Seagryfn!

Who? Where?

Qingzhou is a famous Liyue poet hanging out by the waterfront on the north side of the Wangshu Inn, ground floor. His TCG deck is an “Adventure Challenge” with special rules to achieve victory.

What?

Special “Elegance Unimpeded” Rules – You must win within 5 rounds, and you must play 3 cards from your hand. Furthermore, you only get to use 3 of your “Support Zone” slots, as the game will occupy one of those slots with a Mastery Talisman that has 2 effects: 1) The first card played from your hand each round costs 2 fewer dice, and 2) if your active character when the round begins is protected by a shield, gain 2 free Omni Element dice.

How?

The opponents are all Mitachurls, 2 of which are Shieldwall mitachurls. They might get 3 attacks against you each round instead of 2. This is due to Qingzhou getting 2 extra omni dice if his starting character each round was protected by a shield.

Fortunately, they don’t trigger any powerful elemental reactions against you. This is the deck that I created to go up against Qingzhou…

Why?

“Go big or go home,” as the saying goes. The deck contains several high-cost cards that are free or nearly free to use IF (and only if) they are the first card that you play each round. This will let you have fun tapping the full potential of your Fatui Pyro Agent. His “stealth” effect counts as a shield.

He passive skill activates stealth as a free action (after your action phase starts in the first round) and he can then re-establish his shield using a “prowl” elemental skill. Playing the Paimon card (normally costing 3 dice) at the start of your round costs only 1 die, and the next two rounds you get 2 free omni dice… a great bargain!

Strategy Tips

  • You cannot get 2 free dice the first round by starting as the Fatui Pyro Agent, because your stealth does not activate until after your action phase starts. Begin as Fischl and summon Oz, so that you can start breaking shields. Also, summoning Oz causes Qingzhou to switch to his electro-mitachurl to reduce damage he takes, but that’s his only mitachurl without a shield.
  • Try to end your turn on your shielded Fatui agent, so that you get an extra 2 omni elemental dice next turn.
  • Avoid causing “overload” on the electro-mitachurl at the end of the round. Doing so causes Qingzhou to switch to his next character, which will be shielded, and he’ll get 2 free dice next round. For instance… in the situation shown above, if I caused a Pyro effect on the electro-mitachurl, when Oz attacked at the close of the round, it would cause Qingzhou’s active character to switch.
  • Don’t forget to play your cards in the correct order! The first card you play each round costs 2 fewer dice, so the first card you use should be one that normally costs 2-3 dice to play, or at least normally 1 die if you have no big cards. Don’t play a card that normally has no cost to play as your first play.
  • You could also try a Superconduct team with Diona and another Cryo character instead of the Pyro characters… just remember to swap out the appropriate support cards.
  • You must win in just 5 rounds, so you don’t need “long term” strategy cards that only benefit future rounds, and it is okay to loose a character. If you play your cards right, you’ll have plenty of Omni dice so just go all out and enjoy!

When you win, the poet Qingzhou offers to compose a verse about what an exciting Genius Invocation TCG match it was! Good luck, and have fun!
