How to Zombie Mine? (Coal and Iron)

You can use zombie workers to automate the production of coal and iron. Follow these steps to unlock and set up zombie mining.

Unlock Zombie Mining

1. Unlock Forest Access

You need access to the forest before you can reach the area required for zombie mining. If you do not have forest access yet, continue progressing through the storyline until it becomes available.

2. Travel to the Factory

Head to the factory and continue south.

3. Follow the Route

Follow the route through the area. Bob would normally be here during this part of the progression, although he will not be there for you yet.

While traveling through the area, make sure you are tidying up.

4. Complete the Tidying Up

Continue tidying up as you progress through the area. The tidying-up work is what unlocks mining.

Set Up the Zombie Mine

5. Get the Zombie Mining Perk

Unlock the Zombie Mining perk. This allows you to automate iron and coal mining.

6. Reach the Mining Area

Follow Bob’s route toward the mining area. Bob will still not be available to you yet, but the route shows where the iron mine can be set up.

7. Build the Mine and Porter Station

Build the following:

• Mine
• Porter Station
• Chest, if you want one nearby for additional safety

Once the setup is complete, the zombie miner will produce iron and coal, while the porter will transport the goods to the factory.

How Zombie Mining Works

• The miner produces iron and coal.
• The porter takes the goods to the factory.
