Halls of Torment – How to Defeat First Boss as Cleric

Tips to Beat First Boss as Cleric

For me it was incredibly hard, especially during the first phase where he’s some kind of bull rushing and dashing absurdly fast against you all the time. I just killed it with the Cleric some minutes ago, but had to grind a bit of gold for some blessings, so for me it was:

  1. Spend some gold on blessings, according to your char (for Cleric I used movement speed, attack range, and others to make it more bearable and avoid the dashes).
  2. Equip your char with the best equipment you have (for me the Bloodied Shirt and Necromancer’s Ring were essential, upgrading Channeling to max to have 4 minions).
  3. Like others above : first thing to do is find the altar with the bloodied book, and then follow the blood trails to the piles of skulls, in order to unlock the relic/artifact.
  4. Choose your upgrades well according to your character, equipment and everything. Better to focus on a few and max them out instead of spreading too much. For the Cleric I tried to max Metabolism and everything HPRegen, Channeling because I think (nor sure but it seems) it keeps your skeleton minions alive longer?) and max the spells you have equipped.
  5. Unlock at least four spell scrolls before the boss for magic skills: one is pointed out from the beginning on your map, the others you can find beating mini-bosses. My spells were Needle, Lightning, Holy Aura, Floating Orbs. And it was still hard during the first phase.

After I miraculously managed to avoid the dashes and somehow survived the absurd all-screen spells of the second phase by just walking all the time backwards, the second phase ran out of Mana (good touch from the Devs) and tried to follow me to attack me, and my four minion skeletons plus the spells obliterated him. It was beautiful… I really enjoyed watching him stabbed over and over by the lances of my minions, after he gave me so much trouble. And when the “you win” screen happened, my minion skellies continued stabbing his corpse ’cause I could hear the stabbing noises in the background.

Hope it helps!
