Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions – How to Invert Keeper Movement During Rear Cam (Steam/Controller Only)

Guide to Invert Keeper Movement

  • Find Quidditch Champions in your Steam Library.
  • Click the Controller Icon in the top-right icons.
  • Turn on your controller and connect to your PC with Bluetooth or USB.
  • Click “Enable Steam Input”.

If you are using one of the default controls presets (Sharp Shooter / Broom Racer) you can click on the Current Button Layout, click the Community Layouts tab at the top, then choose the layout that applies to you. I have uploaded both a hold and toggle layout for each preset (user: ZachOfAllTrades).

If you have a custom controls layout, you can manually create your own layout with the following steps.

First, we’ll edit the Default Action Set that’s used while you’re playing Quidditch. The Action Set will have a Command that will enable a Layer. This Layer will invert your strafing controls while it is active.

  • Click “Edit Layout” button.
  • Click “Action Sets” on the lower left.
  • Click the Gear Icon to the right of the Default Action Set and select “Add Layer”.
  • Name your Layer something recognizable and click Confirm.

Look on the left and find the type of input that includes whatever you have mapped for the Rear Cam in Quidditch. By default, it’s clicking the Right Stick, so I select “Joysticks”.

Find the section for the Right Thumbstick Click and click the Gear Icon -> Add Sub Command. Do not replace the existing command labeled “Right Stick Click” or it will no longer enable rear cam in game.

Click the “Add command” button for your new Sub Command, then select Action Sets at the top and click “Add Action Set Layer” if your rear cam is set to toggle and “Hold Action Set Layer” if it’s set to hold.

Select your newly created Layer and adjust the notification toggles as you like, then click “Confirm”.

Now that we’ve configured the Command to activate our Layer, let’s make the Layer invert the relevant strafing directions in Part 2 of this tip in the comments below.

By default (Sharp Shooter) the Keeper strafes up/down & left/right with the Right Stick and moves forward/back with the Left Stick. We’ll be inverting the directions on the horizontal plane to make the controls feel natural while looking backwards.

  • Press R1 or click the R1 icon to start editing the Layer under your Action Set.
  • Select Joysticks on the left and click the Gear icon to the right of Right Joystick Behavior.
  • Scroll down and enable the “Invert Horizontal Axis” toggle. This will invert your left/right strafing.

If you are remapping buttons instead of inverting sticks (Broom Racer), click the Buttons menu on the left, find the button you want to remap and change its default command to the command of your choice. If you are remapping a trigger to a button, make sure you turn off Analog Output by clicking the Gear icon to the right of the trigger behavior, scroll down to the Analog Output Trigger dropdown and select “Analog Off”.

  • Click the back button in the lower right and find the Gear icon to the right of the “Left Joystick Behavior”.
  • Scroll down and enable the “Invert Verticle Axis” toggle. This will invert your forward/back movement.

If your rear cam is set to toggle in Quidditch, you’ll also want to add triggers in your inverting Layer that will disable it when you toggle off rear cam or bring up a menu.

Click the back button in the lower right then find the Gear icon to the right of the “Right Stick Click” command and click “Add sub command”.

  • Select “Action Sets” at the top and click “Remove Action Set Layer”.
  • Use the drop down to select your inverting Layer and set your desired notification toggles before clicking “Confirm”.

Select “Buttons” on the left and find your Start Menu button and repeat the process to add a Sub Command that removes your inverting Layer.

You’re all set! You should be able to close the controller configuration and start up Quidditch Champions.

    • re-bind the keys, some of them are either repeated or just are not comfortable. like the shovel pass, it’s pretty uncomfortable to press triangle while using the R joystick
