Honkai: Star Rail – Tier List (Version 1.1)

Tier List Guide

Guidelines Considered:

  • Beginner and FTP-focused, not for whales.
  • Each character is placed into one of six categories based on their role. Helps to visualize when it comes to team building, which is recommended to have four characters of different roles.
  • Characters ranked on viability, taking into account current Memory of Chaos content, Simulated Universe farming, and other difficult content.
  • All traces considered while ranking.

Eidolon Level:

  • Gacha 5 stars assumed to be at E0
  • Most 4 stars assumed to be at a low eidolon level (E1-E2)
  • Herta assumed to be at E3.
  • Physical Trailblazer assumed to be at E6.
  • Fire Trailblazer assumed to be at E5.

Explaining the Rankings:

  • Best for their use: as of right now, the best in the category they are in.
  • Definitely use if have: very good in the game’s current state. Highly recommend to use them if obtained.
  • Good general options: if looking for a typical party, these characters are good for day-by-day content. Although there are better options, it’s generally worth it to invest in these characters if you don’t have what’s above.
  • Alternatives, good in certain use: niche playstyle or skill use. Has the potential to be very good, but requires a certain team composition or enemy weakness/trait.
  • Viable, use if you like their character or playstyle: there are better options but they aren’t bad. If you like them then feel free to go all out bc they can shine over time with investment.
  • FTP: lists out all the FTP characters given out so far.

Points of Contention:

Pela could arguably be ranked one level higher due to the def down on her ultimate, but I decided not to due to the following reasons:

  • Her skill usage (removing enemy buffs) is rather niche, only really good against the mara-struck since most bosses have unremovable buffs anyway. Introduction of Luocha further trivializes the skill.
  • Her being an ice sub-dps hurts her because ice isn’t really that good of an element in the current state of the game (i.e SU), and most teams forego a sub-dps for a dps anyway, making her more situational.

Qingque could be placed in good general options but her damage is too rng for me to comfortably place her there.
