Ragnarok: The New World – Food Vending Guide

Food Vending

Selling items is currently the only way to earn Zeny (or Zenny) without converting Starstones (SS), apart from the limited amounts available through daily and weekly events such as Cat’s Cargo and Gold Heist.

Farming Royal Equipment and Cards is highly RNG-dependent, so food, especially stat food, can be a useful way to generate Zeny.

Why Players Buy Food

Food requires Energy and significant resources to unlock higher Life Job levels, so some players prefer to spend Zeny instead of investing the time and resources required to produce it themselves.

Energy also has a daily cap of 1,000, which limits how much food a player can craft.

However, food can be heavily oversupplied because of bots. As a result, food generally should not be expected to generate as much Zeny as rarer items such as Cards.

Selling Stat Food

Stat food buffs last for only 30 minutes, so players commonly purchase them shortly before important events.

This creates an opportunity to sell food on the day of, or close to, the event start time. Depending on your approach, you can:

  • Sell below the current price for a safer sale.
  • Set a higher price and wait for buyers if you are willing to take the risk.

Events where food buffs can be particularly important include:

  • Guild Leagues
  • Clash of Chosen (CoC)
  • War of Kings
  • Ancient Ruins
  • Siege

Choosing Which Food to Sell

Pay attention to which types of food are sold more frequently. Identifying popular food can help you earn more Zeny while spending less Energy on food.

It can be difficult to identify demand when selling only small quantities in your shop slots. To get a clearer picture, try selling larger batches, such as around 30 of each food type at a time.

Buying Materials for Food

Buying materials from other sellers and then crafting food for resale is generally not recommended.

Because of rampant bot farming, food generally loses value very quickly compared with rarer goods such as Cards.

Monitoring the Floor Value

Be patient when selling food because the floor value, or base value, of an item can sometimes change.

For example, the base value of Supreme Dex Tonic can change from 3,080 to 3,079. When this happens, buyers may purchase your 3,079 Zeny food instead of another player’s food priced at 3,080 Zeny.

The exact mechanism behind these price changes is currently unknown.
