Ragnarok: The New World – Alchemist / Creator Comprehensive Guide

Beginners Guide to Alchemist / Creator

This guide focuses on players planning to switch from another class to Alchemist/Creator, as well as new players who want to prepare in advance.

At the time of writing, Alchemist has not been officially released. Some information is therefore based on available data and may change when the class becomes available. The guide should be treated as a preparation reference for pre-farming the required equipment, cards, resources, and other materials.

Build Overview

This guide focuses on a hybrid Acid + Summoning Filir build. A pure summoning build is planned for a later update once the relevant content is released.

Alchemist has a different playstyle from traditional physical DPS classes. Its listed advantages include:

  • 10m attack range, which is only 2m shorter than Sniper.
  • Straightforward ATK-based damage scaling without relying on ASPD or CRIT.
  • An Abundance damage multiplier buff from special skill affixes.
  • Access to equipment-breaking mechanics while remaining immune to gear breakage.
  • Homunculus-based gameplay through summoning skills.
  • A flexible progression path that can allow a later switch to Monk while retaining much of the investment.

This guide focuses on the recommended playstyle, gearing priorities, and preparation rather than comparing Alchemist’s DPS with other classes, since future balance changes may affect class performance.

Shadow Gear

Use the Shadow Hunt set, with priority given to the Shadow Hunt Glove for Throw.

According to the main section of the source, after changing jobs, Shadow Gear can be switched using:

  • 20 Corrosive Potion + 100 SS for the first 6 conversions
  • 500 SS for subsequent conversions

The source’s later resource section gives a different lifetime conversion count, stating that the Shadow Gear Glove conversion costs 100 SS for the first 5 lifetime conversions and 500 SS after the 5th. The exact conversion limit is therefore not consistent within the source.

Gems and Enchants

The primary premium gem recommended for this build is Domineering Gem.

Premium gems can be converted for free on job change.

Recommended gems:

  • Ruby for ATK
  • Power for STR
  • VIT

Treasures

Prioritize treasures in this order:

  1. Acid Bomb

Demonstration is prioritized because it can provide more DPS through the auto-cast effect from the relevant special skill affix.
