With those two settings, it’s impossible for your Ratizens to get above 1000 gold.
You can adjust them to suit your needs, but this is all you need, to keep things balanced and be able to keep enough Gold on hand.
The Simple Taxes
This is the simple way to set taxes
For some reason if the code stone gets disabled by the plague rats, you must enable your taxes again.
This policy will lead to an economic collapse, as each new rat added to the city effectively now costs 500-700.
You’ll be bankrupt before cycle 60.
Just tax your rats at 15% of their income daily and charge 50 for using a toilet.
Don’t forget to a subsidy to give them 500 if their income drops below 200.
i did not have any issues with economic collapse using these settings even after throwing most of my money at an organization.
Did you even attempt it?
worth noting: statue of the rat allows you to pick up taxes by passing through people but costs 500 to activate initially, and must also be defended from plague rats as it will get disabled if destroyed just like the codestone.
since both items are largely set and forget, i suggest building them in an unpathable location and rebuilding a grass ladder any time you need to access it
Any idea how statue of the rat collecting compares to having a tax collector? I’ve anecdotally noticed that I’m still picking up a ton of taxes when running around even with a tax collector which makes me wonder if it’s even worth having one.
i found the tax collector wasnt worth it if you’ve active around your city or design it in a bottleneck, takes 4 research points to get to instead of 1.
however if you have spare research points, your little rat IRS can help prevent tax evaders that don’t visit the parts you tend to be in.
