Basic Tips for Tax

Research and build Shrine of Rat. Activate it. After that, walk around and touch the rats to make them pay the taxes.

Code stone:

Taxes (first page, one tax): take 50% of wealth of everyone who has more than 300 or 500 wealth. Wealth, not income!
Subsidies (3rd page, one subsidy): give 200 to everyone who has less than 300 wealth. Or 151 Pia for everyone who has less than 100 wealth early game.

As the game progresses and you get to trade/ mint coins, you increase the taxes to 1000, then 3000, then 6000. And subsidy to match.

The most important thing is not to take too many rats at once. You need to have at least 300 pia per rat in circulation, so they won’t starve.

So if you start with 10.000 pia, that’s 30 rats at most. If you start with 5000 (Hard mode) that’s 20 rats at most and even then, they won’t be happy (Attached images are from hard mode).

To keep them all middle class, you need at least 600 pia per rat. 3000 pia per rat for high class + the amount you tax.
