Secrets of Grindea – Monkey Card Dropping Explained

Explanation of Monkey Card Dropping

How It Works

Monkey drop rate is 1/200 (or 0.5% chance). Defeating elites rolls the card drop chance 10 times (which is also what makes drop rate potions so good to drink when killing elites – drop rate potions increase drop rate by 20% for their duration). Buuut monkeys don’t spawn as elites, which is probably part of the problem.

When you have killed 200 monkeys without a card, which would be the average before getting one, the game considers you unlucky, and will approximately double the drop rate, which will be around 1%.

If you reach 400 kills, the game will consider you VERY unlucky, and increase the drop rates to around 3 or 4%, somewhere between tripling and quadrupling the drop rate from the ~1%.

If you kill another 200 monkeys and STILL don’t have the drop rate, the game considers you incredibly unlucky, and increases the drop rate to around 30% per kill, effectively multiplying the drop rate by around 10x more.
