Sengoku Rance – Hara Clan Guide

Hara Clan Walkthrough

  • Province: Ise

Basics

You can declare war on the Hara Clan as early as Turn 2, costing 10 Negotiation points.

If you do not declare war on the Hara Clan but are at war with the Ashikaga Clan, the Hara Clan has a 50% chance at the end of each turn to declare war on you. Reloading can change the outcome.

Hara Remnants

Hara remnants may appear in Ise and automatically conquer the province if all of the following conditions are met:

  1. You are either:
    • On the Isoroku route and have not seen the event where Rance is told that Keikoku has given birth, or
    • On the Ran route and have not seen the event where both Keikoku and Souun Houjou are discovered to be missing.
  2. Either:
    • Cairo is controlled by the Oda Clan or one of its vassals, or
    • Both the Takeda Clan and the Mouri Clan are neither at war with the Oda Clan nor in a state where their provinces appear yellow on the map.
  3. The Hara Clan has been conquered and Ise is controlled by the Oda Clan.

The remnants spawn with an army of generic commanders who have +2 to all combat stats and immediately declare war on the Oda Clan.

Additional conditions and limitations:

  • Hara remnants can appear only once per playthrough.
  • They cannot appear if the Iga remnants have already appeared earlier in the same playthrough.
  • Hara remnants cannot be vassalized.

Vassalizing the Hara Clan

You can demand the Hara Clan’s surrender for 18 Negotiation points after seeing the event where Akihime claims to be on her period.

This event only triggers if:

  • You are at war with the Hara Clan.
  • The Hara Clan controls fewer than two territories in Ise.
  • You have not seen the event previously.

Once vassalized, the Hara Clan can send reinforcements.

Noteworthy Commanders

Shouji Hara

Shouji Hara is automatically captured when you completely conquer the Hara Clan.

He commands an Archer unit with a hit-all Volley attack.

Akihime

Akihime can only be recruited during a Second Game.

After defeating the Hara Clan, you are presented with two choices:

  • The first choice recruits Akihime as a commander.
  • The second choice triggers the same event as in the first playthrough, in which she can be H-ed for 5 SAT.

If you do not have enough National Power to recruit her, the game automatically selects the second choice. You will not be able to recruit her afterward. This usually happens if you started with bonuses from other Clans.

Gekkou

Gekkou is available only in version 1.04 after selecting the bonus character option at the beginning of a Second Game.

He can be recruited by selecting the colorless event in Ise called Thunder At Noon??? after the beginning-of-turn cherry blossom viewing event.

The event disappears after Nobunaga breaks the first gourd, so Gekkou should be recruited as soon as possible.

Gekkou’s passive skill gives him a 100% chance to assassinate any commander who is out of moves.

Saijou Mochikiyo

Saijou Mochikiyo is an Onmyouji unit and Hara’s chief vassal.

He will disappear from the game during one of Hara’s end-of-turn events if all of the following conditions are met:

  • You are at war with the Hara Clan.
  • You have not captured Saijou Mochikiyo.
  • The Hara Clan does not have complete control of its original province, meaning you own some of it at the end of the turn.
  • You have not already seen a Hara end-of-turn event during that turn.

His level cap is random.

Persuasive Monk

The Persuasive Monk can be recruited in Ise for 6 Negotiation points.

He has 8 Negotiation, making him particularly useful for recruiting prisoners.

His name appears in the game progress information.
