Sons Of The Forest – Changing a Singleplayer Save to Multiplayer

A short guide to quickly teach you how to turn a singleplayer save into a multiplayer save and vice versa.

Hidden Folders

All credit goes to Hida | Major !

First of all, you need to display the hidden folders on your computer.

Win 10

  • Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
  • Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
  • Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

Win 11

  • Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
  • Select View > Show > Hidden items.

Find, Move & Play

You will have to follow the following path.

(Which is the default one set up by the game, if it is not correct look for keywords present in the path below)

  • C:/Users/username/AppData/LocalLow/Endnight/SonsOfTheForest/Saves/

When you are in the saves folder, a folder with a series of numbers will be present, click on it and you will then have two folders :

SinglePlayer
Multiplayer

If you don’t have a save on SinglePlayer or Multiplayer, one of the two folders will not be present, create it exactly as it is marked here.

In the SinglePlayer and/or Multiplayer folder you will also find a sequence of numbers, this is the most important folder in this guide because it is your save that you can now move to SinglePlayer or Multiplayer!

Now launch the game and play!

Other Information

The files are in .JSON so you can read them and modify them as you wish, of course if you don’t know anything about them avoid touching them (Remember to create another backup just in case)
