Starfield – Crimson Fleet Bounty Management

Rumours are running that some “Rooks” are struggling to keep up bounty payments. Read here to beat the Bounty.

Delgado’s Orders

Сrеdit gоеs to Matter!

Now… Delgado has over-heard chatter around the fleet. “Rooks” are picking up massive bounties with the U.C. and the F.C. which is not normally a problem, if you have credits in your pockets. The Issue here is, some of you bloodthirsty bastards are racking up a bounty in the millions and can not show a hair in settled space without a fire fight.

So Delgado’s orders are to pass on a word or two of advice and help get that Credit income flowing and also “keelhaul anyone who screws this one up.” If you can’t fly settled space, you can’t contribute. If you can’t contribute, you can’t fly with the Crimson Fleet. I’m here to ensure you can

Get yourself to that mission board and strap in.

Pick Your Fights

First thing you need to know is when to fight and who to fight, the easy answer being never and no-one. Your silver tongue is your best option [Piracy] and comes with the low bounty of Cr 1,500 per successful attempt, while failing this renders you feeling foolish but bounty free.

Failure is an Option

Failing [Piracy] does not mean failing as a Pirate. Often it means you are not as strong as your mark who can be with escort or just be really tough. Should this happen you will have two main outcomes.

The Persuasive Argument

Plan B: Persuade. This is where your sharp tongue will earn you more than trouble. Win your “mark” over and you’ll have liberal access to their cargo hold and your prize plus anything else you can get your grubby hands on.

The best tool in your arsenal, Marshal it.

A big note here is that attacking and killing a captain and crew can lead to a hefty Cr 15,000 bounty. Though this will secure you the goods this is a bad option. If this is your case then leave no witnesses. A dead “mark,” tells no tales.

Retreat and Regroup

Plan C: Retreat and rethink. Remember the easy answer when approaching this option. Especially when your total rewards can range from around the Cr 5,000 to Cr 11,000 area. If your bounty is Cr 15,000 plus then this can turn into a massive deficit.

I Made a Mistake!

Your best option for plan C is to admit mistake and move on. Select your corresponding Piracy mission and hit that right stick. That’ll cancel your mission and you can head back to the mission board with your tail between your legs but no worse off. That’ll give you room for yet another possible score.

Wanted

One last thing to remember is where you are wanted and by who. Try not to cross the U.C. if you plan on tearing through U.C. space and same with the F.C. Nothing worse than going for a target only to be caught by a local patrol. The best option is to hit one U.C. and then one F.C. and “scoot” back over to The Key to cash in and pay off.

Pay Your Bounty

Every Pirate loves credits, we live for credits and we kill for them. It’s a shame however we have to part with them. Grabbing a mission or two from the terminal is the best way to earn them and the best way to spend them is in the Last Nova with a bottle of Bog’s Grog. What we don’t want is to piss credits away on the bounty board. An… inconvenience. This is where the easy answer pays off.

Success

So you’ve successfully convinced your “mark” to hand over anything on their ship that you wanted. Your bounty should hit the Cr 1,500. Gravitate yourself back to The Key and drop off those mission items and check your hold for your cut of the goods. Visit “The Depot” and sell your cut for a tidy profit.

Trackers Bounty

Remember to hit that Trackers Board and pay off any outstanding Bounty payments, which, I might add should total no more than Cr 1,650 per mission.

That’ll Pave the Way!

Now, out of 10 Piracy missions, I was personally able to “score” 6 of them while following the “easy answer.” The ten missions offered a potential reward total of Cr 66,159, alone. This including the “rejected” mission rewards. My actual total income, from completed missions, was Cr 57,420 which included the “cut” value sold at “The Depot.” After paying the bounty of Cr 9,900 on the successes I was left with a profit of Cr 47,520.

The Sum

To conclude this slate. Though violence can be the answer it’s not always the best option. Pick your fights and you’ll earn decent credits and even survive long enough to spend them. Go in ballistics a blazing and you’re sure to catch the rough end of the SysDef “Sharks.”

Oh and if you catch me in The Last Nova buy me a drink.

For Delgado! For the Fleet! Yeaahhhh!
