Just 1 possible, I’m sure it can be broken in various ways but this is 1 way I’m sure will help a lot of people:

In the case where you can’t put anything into the crafting bench, try to craft something (preferably using only 1 alloy)… Then assuming you CAN NOT take what you just crafted out.

Try to recycle the thing you just crafted. After doing these steps in this order, I was able to get our crafting bench working again.

Extra tip: It seems that for everyone, the ‘recycle’ button is mis-aligned.

This makes most people think the whole bench is broken, what it actually is, is just the ‘recycle’ button itself. You need to click the button on the bottom-left side of the button, just smash your left-click all over that area of the recycle button itself.
