Guide to Difficulty and Memories

Difficulty

Found in the Settings Menu there are 5 Modes of Difficulty.

Can be changed in the Main Menu or in Game.

Peaceful

“For the dedicated gardener. Most threats and enemies are disabled, except those needed to progress the story.”

Normal

“The standard Wildmender experience. The world is harsh but survivable.”

Hard

“For an extra challenge. Threats are stronger, resources fewer, and your needs greater.”

Iron Child

“An extra challenge for dedicated Wildmenders! Threats are much harsher and your ability to revive is limited. The stakes are raised with bonus damage for both players and enemies”

Custom

If you want Iron Child level Wraiths but no fall or hazard damage its your choice.

If you want Fatal Poison On but Wraiths deal no damage its your choice.

Memories

Memories are the recovered lost knowledge of civilization before being wiped out by their own folly.

The Memories Menu can be accessed with the “M” key (by default). There are 5 categories of Memories. The first 3 are the major categories and that Players can gain points for and invest in: Survival, Arcane, and Spiritual. There are two additional categories that Players cannot directly invest in, but can either find or earn: Secret and Guidance.

Survival Memories

This category is for learning how to construct tools and structures to survive the environment.

Spiritual Memories

This category is for learning how to bond with the remnants of the natural world.

Arcane Memories

This category is for learning how to bond manipulating the mana and essence of the world.

Secret Memories

This category is about how to co-exist with the elements and garden more effectively through passive abilities.

Guidance Memories

This category is composed of story-related upgrades and boons.
