Create Your Wolf’s Personality!

When you Roleplay, you need a personality for your wolf! When you create your wolf, it may already tell you the personality, but you have to make your wolf act that way in RPs! (RP stands for Roleplay) When you have a lazy wolf, make them act lazy in a RP by:

  • Not wanting to hunt fast prey like Mule Deer and Pronghorn.
  • Laying down much more than others.
  • Saying ‘I’m tired.’ many times.
  • Not going on many long adventures with other players.

When you have an energetic wolf, make them act energetic in a RP by:

  • Wanting to hunt fast prey like pronghorn and mule deer.
  • Running in circles from time-to-time.
  • Not sitting still for a long time.
  • Going on long adventures with other players.

What if I am not either? Some wolves don’t run in circles all day, and they also don’t feel like sitting in one position for a long time or sleeping for half the day! If you think your wolf isn’t either, then RP like this:

  • Hunt any ungulate you feel up to hunting!
  • Relax from time-to-time, but let out some energy sometimes.
  • Go on a good amount of adventures; but remember to take some breaks!

Now that you have made sure your wolf is lazy or energetic (or in the middle), it is time to see if they are social or a loner. Social wolves act by:

  • Playing with others very often.
  • Being near other wolves very often.
  • Being more friendly to others.
  • Talking a LOT.
  • Get along with other social wolves more often.

Or is your wolf more of a loner? Loners act by:

  • Not playing with others.
  • Being alone.
  • Being more mean to others.
  • Barely talking.
  • Do not get along with social wolves.

Once again, if you are not either, just try to do in the middle. Now is your wolf bold or cautious?

Bold wolves act by:

  • Hunting strong prey like bison and moose.
  • Are not afraid to get into a fight.
  • Fear almost nothing.
  • Often attack other predators like cougars and bears.

Cautious wolves act by:

  • Hunting weaker prey like Mule Deer, Pronghorn, or snowshoe hares.
  • Are often afraid to get into a fight.
  • Fear almost everything big or strong.
  • Often avoid predators like cougars and bears.

If your wolf is in the middle, they might hunt elk or fight only when they feel they need to. Once you have picked your wolf’s personality, go to chapter 2!

How Do You RP?

RPing is basically like writing a story, except you are one of the characters in the story! To RP, do something like this. This is the basic way to RP:

  • “I don’t want to.” He snarled. ~Or:~ She watched the elk roam in the meadow

This is the less basic way:

  • “I don’t want to, and you won’t make me, bear-snout.” He snarled. ~Or:~ She watched the dainty elk roam around in the beautiful meadows of Slough Creek

This is the most accurate way that advanced people RP:

  • “I don’t want to! You can’t make me, you bear-snot-eating-killer!” He bellowed. ~Or:~ She watched a herd of many elk in the tall, thick, grass. The elk roamed around in the huge, majestic meadows of First Meadow

Now that is what I call a good way to RP! Beginners can so the first way, and I usually do the second way. Do whatever way feels right to do. Here is another example:

  • He leaped onto the other wolf without hesitation, even though the wolf was much bigger and tougher than himself

RPing is very fun, too! But just remember, when using the WolfQuest chat to RP, let the other player/wolf respond to your text before you type more. If the other player/wolf takes a long time to respond, then wait more or try to RP with a different player/wolf. Here is an example of a RP: (Read the chat) Touch the screenshot to make it bigger.

What Are NPCs and How Do I Use Them?

NPCs are another thing that some people use in RPs. NPCs are made-up wolves that you can RP with. For example, your wolf will talk to a made-up NPC like this:

  • “Hello.” She said, stepping towards the new wolf. “Hi.” He said.

In this case, you will type all of it, including what the NPC does or says. Another example:

  • He leaped onto Howler, but Howler dodged the attack

In this case, you make the NPC do whatever you want them to do. Not everyone uses NPCs, and I don’t, but you can if it sounds fun to do. Using NPCs is like writing a story in the chat. But, if you didn’t make the server, ask permission before using NPCs, because some servers don’t allow NPCs. When you are done knowing what an NPC is and does, go to chapter 4!

Extra Help

Sometimes RPing is hard to understand for some people. If you want to learn to RP and this isn’t helping, try looking up how to RP. If you just don’t like RPing, then that’s okay. If you don’t like RPing, then stick to the classic servers! There are plenty of those, too. I hope this was helpful, and I hope you enjoy your RPs! Here is another RP example for fun:

  1. No offence but loner wolves don’t have to be mean, they just don’t spend a lot of time with other wolves.
