The first way involves buying an animal from Marnie. When you name the animal, you can use the item code of the item you want to get. For instance, if you buy a chicken and name it [Broccoli], you will receive a broccoli item in your inventory. Keep in mind that this only works one time per animal. If you want to use the code again, you would need to sell the animal and then buy a new one to name.

The second way is available after you reach a friendship level of four hearts with the Wizard. You can go to the basement in his tower and use the golden statue there to change your character’s name as often as you like. So, if you suddenly need a hot pepper and a crab, you could change your name to include their item codes.

Once you have changed your name to something like [74][434][72], you can go to the Stardrop Saloon and talk to Gus. He is a reliable character because he says your name when you talk to him. However, any character in the game that says your name can trigger the items to appear in your inventory. If a character doesn’t say your name when you talk to them, try speaking to them again on the next day.
