Expedition Meta Guide
Optimize SP Gain
Use the SP / min stat to test different strategies and determine which setup gives you the most SP.
- Stay with your current setup for 2 to 3 minutes to let the
SP / minvalue level out. - Change one buff, piece of equipment, or other part of your setup.
- Compare the new
SP / minvalue with the previous one. - Use the setup that produces the most SP per minute.
Maximize Monsters in Your Parrot’s Radius
Use the Hold to Reroll flag in the bottom-right corner to maximize the number of monsters within your parrot’s radius.
A commonly suggested target is around 17 monsters, although the source does not confirm this number through direct counting.
One-Shot Monsters Whenever Possible
Ideally, idle in a location where your parrot can one-shot every monster within its radius. The faster you kill monsters, the faster you gain SP.
With high attack speed, killing monsters in multiple hits may still be effective.
Increase your damage and HP with fish buffs and equipment until you can one-shot monsters at the highest tier you can handle.
Optimize Parrot Movement Speed
Your parrot should move quickly enough to kill every monster within its radius before, or approximately as, the monsters respawn.
Movement speed can be affected by fish buffs and equipment, including:
Point HoardLone Strider Boot
SP Allocation
A commonly recommended SP allocation ratio is approximately:
| Stat | Ratio |
|---|---|
| HP | 10 |
| Recovery | 1 |
| Attack | 20 |
Experiment with different ratios to find your preferred allocation.
Recovery can be a useful stat before Epic body and equipment upgrades. However, according to the source, its scaling becomes much less effective at Epic and especially Legendary levels. One alternative allocation mentioned for earlier progression is a 1:2 Vitality-to-Recovery ratio.
Recommended Equipment
If the other aspects of your setup are optimized, one possible best loadout is:
- 2 ×
Point Hoard - 2 ×
Tempest Harp - 1 ×
Lone Strider Boot
Other useful equipment includes:
Storm LocketSpirit AmuletSkull of Reckoning
Final Tips
- If you are not one-shotting monsters, equip items that increase damage.
- If you are not killing monsters quickly enough, equip up to two
Lone Strider Bootitems or use your best fish that buffs movement speed. - If you cannot survive at a particular level and tier combination, go down a tier or half-tier.
- Make sure you have every available upgrade in the field and, later, in the desert.
- Sacrifice to the sacrifice room.
- Make sure you are upgrading your parrot punch, parrot armor, and the other available parrot upgrade.
