What Artifacts Should You Equip?
The best Artifacts depend on your current goals and progression. There is no universally optimal equipment set, but some Artifacts are significantly more useful than others.
Why Skill Point (SP) Boosters Matter
Artifacts with a +X% Points gained bonus increase the Skill Points your parrot earns while fighting. All else being equal, this is a direct multiplier to your power.
For maximum effectiveness, equip as many SP-boosting Artifacts as possible without sacrificing combat effectiveness.
Common Artifacts
Replace Common Artifacts as better options become available. They are useful in the early game, but none are worth keeping for the endgame.
Uncommon Artifacts
Bandit Purse
Bandit Purse is the only Artifact in the game that increases Aura gains. It is not worth keeping equipped at all times, but maintaining one or two copies is a good idea.
Public Codex
Public Codex is the third-best SP booster in the game. Equip it during the early game whenever possible. Once you replace it with better alternatives, keep one copy for dedicated Skill Point farming in the endgame.
Rare Artifacts
Predator Instinct
Predator Instinct is inexpensive to fully upgrade and provides the highest damage bonus in the game for a single attack.
Its main advantage is the ability to one-shot enemies, allowing you to farm quickly and efficiently. However, if you cannot kill an enemy with the initial attack, its follow-up performance is terrible.
Due to diminishing returns, equipping a second copy is never worthwhile.
Tempest Harp
Tempest Harp is the second-best SP booster in the game. It also provides a small attack speed bonus, helping you kill more enemies without taking return damage.
Equip it during the early game whenever possible. For dedicated endgame Skill Point farming, keep two copies available.
Epic Artifacts
Depth Chronicle
Depth Chronicle is a scaling Artifact that is not worth equipping before Floor 9. Starting on Floor 9, however, it becomes one of the best Artifacts in the game.
Due to diminishing returns, a second copy is never worth equipping.
Spirit Amulet
Spirit Amulet provides substantial, consistent bonuses to critical stats without requiring specific conditions or introducing any downsides.
Keep two copies. Its reliable performance makes it one of the strongest Artifacts in the game. It is also considered the best Artifact overall.
Legendary Artifacts
Point Hoard
Point Hoard is the best SP booster in the game, although diminishing returns affect the value of additional copies.
The first copy provides an effective +20% bonus to points gained, while the second copy’s bonus is reduced to +10%. Until the second Point Hoard is heavily infused, equipping a Tempest Harp instead will likely provide better returns.
Generally, keep one Point Hoard equipped at all times, except during difficult boss fights. Eventually, keep a second copy for dedicated endgame Skill Point farming.
Infusion does not increase the Skill Point bonus of Point Hoard. Only abilities displayed in bold scale with Infusion, and no current SP boosters grant additional points when infused. However, heavily infusing Point Hoard provides a substantial movement speed bonus, making it useful for farming.
Mythic Ledger
Discard Mythic Ledger in exchange for Aura.
Skull of Reckoning
When fully infused, Skull of Reckoning provides the highest consistent damage bonus in the game.
It is a strong option for maximizing damage, but has two significant drawbacks:
- High upgrade cost: Fully infusing Skull of Reckoning is extremely expensive.
- Skill Point respecs: Reallocating Skill Points is comparatively easy, and equipping Spirit Amulet while assigning more points to Strength usually produces better overall performance than using Skull of Reckoning.
Despite these drawbacks, Skull of Reckoning is worth investing in if you need to fill an Artifact slot or want additional damage without respeccing your Skill Points.
Other Artifacts and Infusion Mechanics
Is Storm Locket Worth Equipping?
Storm Locket is generally not recommended because it does not improve your important stats very effectively.
Its ability to one-shot two additional enemies every six hits may appear attractive, particularly when farming. However, if you are already one-shotting enemies and no longer need additional Skill Points, you are probably on Floor 10, where Heart of the Veil is available.
