Death Must Die – Guide to Act 2 Easy Beat Builds

Having trouble with act 2? You don’t need to spend a lot of time getting better gear or skill points. Try these simple builds to easily complete act 2 and win.

Act 2 Easy Beat Builds

Why Act 2 so Hard

In Act 2, the elites and bosses are different from Act 1. The slime wave is no longer the main threat. You don’t need to focus on area damage as much. The Act 1 enemies moved slowly, so you could dodge them easily.

Act 2 changed some things. There’s no more health regeneration when diving. Life link isn’t as strong now. The elites are more aggressive and dangerous.

The cat enemies can attack quickly with their claws. They move faster than you, making them hard to avoid. You need to use cover like pillars to stay safe from them.

  • The first boss cursed is the hardest, it have a forever poison cloud running after u, two longtime homing souls chasing you; tons of debuff skill can reduce you dmg or movement spd. also have a melee charge skill can deal great multi times dmg.
  • Skeleton Archer can fire homing arrow and can’t hit down by normal attacks.
  • Harpy can fire quick shockwave which even can pierce the pillar.
  • The second boss queen can cast multi shockwave and move fast and tanky.
  • Magic carpet can cast bombs with aoe dmg and blow fast.
  • The final boss jinx is tanky with tons of deadly skills, but in most of time, he is the easiest if you can deal with other bosses before.
  • All this elite and boss make act 2 not only a HP-limited game, but a time-limited game, if u can’t kill the elites quickly, they stacks will cause a easy loss.

So we need:

  • High Single Dmg, Accurate, Stuns

To kill them quickly. the crowds in act 2 is easy, running and wait AOE dmg kill the elites no longer works. we should stun them, charging forward and kill it.

Grind farm gears and unlock talent tree is also a optional choice, but it’s boring right? dmd have good design can make u pass act 2 without any good gears or talents.

Let’s try it.

(Strike) Lorien, Tornado Archer

Lorien is a good character for strike builds. His attacks are fast, letting him hit and move quickly.

Lightning is the best god for strike builds. It has two good skills: tornado and chain lightning. The tornado skill is very strong at high levels.

War god is the next best choice. It gives damage boosts against elites. The shuriken skill does high damage. Earth god’s wall skill is also strong and can block enemy attacks, but it might block your arrows too.

Attack speed is important for strike builds. It helps trigger skills more often. War god and fire god can increase attack speed. War god can apply a debuff that boosts attack speed a lot.

Ice god is good for stunning enemies and boosting damage. Diving god can also work, as it can stun enemies and make you tougher.

About Act 2 Update

God Rework

some gods with obvious disadvantage also get reworked, overpowered skill like mayhem, gem high, life link get proper nerfed, some useless pure support skill like time field also have damage now.

Better Skill Slots

Sign system is totally removed, replaced by skill slots and talent trees. The character panel UI update and skill slots make the builds and skill choose more clear. If u fill one kind of skill slots, this kind skill card will no longer show in the card poll.

Different skills slots choose can sort all the builds into 5 type

  • Attack (warrior, pure high physics dmg)
  • Strike (thief, high attack spd, use attack trigger strike skills)
  • Cast (mage, high dmg skill but have cooldown)
  • Power (stalker, no cooldown skill but u need running/dash or damaged to trigger it)
  • Summon (nec, skadi like pets, :D)

Clear and simple, really good game should not have good guides, the best guides already design in the game.

More Distinctive Character

Every character have different init skill slots and talents tree to make more distinctive builds.

From now on DMD is no longer like a vampire-survivor like game or a DBG draft card game, but more like a time-limited diablo game, u need talents, gears to achieve your dream build and kill challenging boss.

Other Improvement

More stocks, remove amulet and rings soul-binding, level-up skill should +1 skill level and so on. i am sure author have read all my suggestion and considered. and absorb great ideas from community, thought the game update is a bit slow, but worth it.

  1. Hooow did you upgrade the tornadoes DPS to 120000??? Can you show me the items? I thougth that the earth spike have the most ridicolous damage, but now, with this insane tornadoes dps i can easly beat lvl 100 act 2 😀

    • no unique gears except silk road, have +56% dmg, and +200% strike dmg, most important is add about 400 HP to boost exp get. maybe some of my gears is good, but boost 120k dmg is for 2 things, war legend will grant you 220%+ all dmg boost, and Lorien have a talent boost +80% dmg for max skill level. if you only get lv9 master tornado, it’s only about 80k dmg.

  2. Try Time god bubble, with justice cast area and cooldown reduc from thunder god, max time bubble thing and proc 5-6 at the same time, takes the whole screen and max all passives and res of the character like invulnerability from justice. Works with all characters

    • Time is a good god, if you go for an attack based (Gem high is legendary now but still so strong for the cd reduction or the attack speed and the move speed), or a cast based ( Time zone does damages now and you will love it on your cast Telekinesis build on Merris) or even a summon based build (for Skadi or Merris summoner build). He has good synergies with those.

Winter and Summer are great in power build based coupled with either Mort or Lady Justice for the sustain. I would recommend to get 3 out of those 4 gods.

Earth is great either on a strike build or caster build or for the Warchief build (if you like to stomp).

      • nice suggestion, legendery build extremely depends on the silk road and luck, so high lv will die quickly in 4 mins.

  3. Kront warchief build. Attack area and attack damage.Never attack Earth mommy for more attack area and attack damage. Humiliate the bosses, Get ice cream for the kids.

  4. You can easily beat both acts using Dash+Summoner Merris. Skeletons, Raven & frost wolves. For dash go Winters dash + Frost ring. Third God go lightning bolts. Just walk around and its easy win.

  5. I have made a build based on 3 items : Silk road (waist) for the 75% legendary proc + Strategic Fried Rice (relic) for the +8 on reroll/ban/alter + Possibilty (jewel) to unlock the limitations on number of gods.
U also need any other item that gives you at least +15% legendary. Then you can enjoy a run with 10 or more legendary blessing in one run ( got one that went to 15 blessing ). It’s fun and OP 🙂

    • skill road is extremely op, if you can get it, all the exp gears means nothing, just stack exp % boost and hp, just go diving god get inner peace, and u can see your exp boost like crazy, easy get 40+ lv in 10mins, and 75+ lv in 20mins. i will update the gear and god comment later.

    • just use character and beat the boss, and boss will drop a item like a blackhole. pick it and u will get 1 talent points, max can get 36 talent points, character limited.

  6. The loss of that divine regen skill is killing me im bad at the game so it helped me just last in act 1 alot

    • if u have tons of dmg, u won’t need regen. also can try summoner build if u have dragon in gear, quite strong.
