Dungeonborne – How to Calculate the Damage from Skills

Hello fellow adventurers, some of you might have noticed that for example, when you use the curse from the cryomancer while having a dagger, the damage output is way lower than it should.

A Guide to How Skill Damage Done is Calculated

Well, I’m here to tell you how this all works, as well as inform you a little about other stuff.

You see, it seems the game was coded so the damage of MOST skills are based on the weapon drawn at the time, instead of the highest weapon damage you have equipped, which means throwing a curse or storm with the dagger out will deal a lot less damage than doing the same, without changing equipment, with your staff out.

This is true 100% of the times regardless of equipment color, as the attack lvl does take into account the other weapons’ tier equipped (tested this by equipping a green dagger and unequipping it, while dealing damage with the staff).

Now for the more important information: This is true for almost all skills in the game, of any class, like rogues’ daggers, they deal a lot more damage when you have your crossbow out instead of double daggers or double swords (damage while dual wielding takes only the main weapon into account).

Swordmasters’ skills also scale like this, same with Pyromancers and the Druids’ trees (have not tested this when turning into a panther), as well as the DK’s GRASP damage (yes, only the E skill, area skill not affected at all by the weapon used), even Priests’ heals and damage are affected like this.

The only class that is not affected by this is the warrior, mostly….if you have 2 2-handed swords equipped and start spinning, when using the higher damage output one, ofc you deal more damage, but who in his right mind would do that? the other skills are not affected by this at all.
