Dungeonborne – Rat Druid Build Guide

Rat Druid Built on Regrowth

How It Works:

On Casual, Regrowth outheals the zone if cast with a staff. BUT on Classic, it does not, so you take the shield passive.

And now you outheal the storm, and not even by a small margin – you can even take hits from mobs sometimes and not be forced into potions.

This allows for remarkably easy deep-zone rat, incomparable to the much-needed stacks of heal you needed on classes like Rogue or the patheticness of playing rat Priest. Note that I do not disrespect Priests, I just disrespect rat Priests in particular – play Rogue like a normal man.

Build:

  • Heirlooms: Neck stamina +int, armor +stamina, staff with standard max stacks enchants and any mace & orb in the offhand for damage. Then you fill to 15 with whatever Faith rings you have on hand.
  • Skills: Naturally, Regrowth.
  • Consumables: 3 potions will suffice for heal, thunder or molly for flasks. Both if you feel extra frisky today.

Q&A:

Why tf do you not take Dex passive?

Because I am assuming that at least 1 of the 2 will happen in every game you play:

  • You are braindead – you play rat instead of farming lobbies like a normal player would, so I think it’s better for you to be safer for most of the game (in the storm) by taking the stamina passive instead of being safe at the very start of it (outside the storm) by taking the Dex passive.
  • Your enemy is not braindead – if you are 25 meters from them, they know where you are, and you are a Druid without a tree, so you won’t win.

How to expand on the build?

Build Will passive, it allows for even freer movement in the storm.

How do I combat other rats?

You:

  • Want to combat Priests IF you have fire flasks – you are a direct upgrade to them
  • Want to combat Rogues if you have thunder flasks AND they seem low GS – they constantly need to heal
  • All other classes either won’t rat or you can avoid.

Of course, this assumes you play solo – obviously you avoid all combat in trios.

Tips & Tricks

Always cast E with a staff, as the skill scales with weapon damage. I am kinda disappointed by the fact that I have to say this though.

Collect f***ing cloud life essence. My eyes hurt when I see people asking to restore the shop for heal. FFS, how do you even do that? Devs even expanded the stacks of them from 20 to 999 because you always collect so many of them! Do you purposefully avoid them? Are you into masochistic S&M?
