This set functions best with Soulstorm being the chosen active ability. I have demolished multiple Purple set geared Rogues, Fighters, Swordmasters and other DKs. The sticking power of Tangling Chains 2 along with the shields from Tangling Chains and Stamina Evolved Soulstorm keep you right in the face of your target and keep you healthy for the short time you will need to absolutely team them apart. I have found this build functions best on the offensive with the Two-Handed Soldier’s Longsword. The Life Steal along with supplied shields from your kit give you more than enough durability to crush even the highest of DPS builds.
Even if they manage to create a gap between you, Tiny Torment will be ticking every half second dealing true damage while they kite. And the Tier 2 Tangling chains gives you the move speed to re-close the gap. While Soulstorm is active, the evolved Dexterity perk makes it act as an AOE slow, further increasing the movement disparity.
The Strength Evolved Grasp Of The Grave generates 20 soul energy to replenish any you may have used on other fights or PVE.
The Will Evolved perk give you life back for every soul energy orb you collect, keeping you healthy through the PVE, saving your use of health potions and granting a small burst of HP on a PVP victory.
The Game Plan
Ideally with this set, you will focus on intense, short 1v1 fights. Your ideal targets are typically the classes that like to cheese higher gear off of players. These include Rogues, Pyromancers, Cryomancers and Swordmasters.
With the perks, evolves and skills at your disposal, you are far too durable for any of them to burst you down, and with your set bonuses and the Dex evolve trait, you can stick close to them, preventing kiting and drawing out of an engagement.
With this in mind, always try to save your Grasp Of The Grave until absolutely necessary to re-close a gap or to interrupt important actions. Always try to start the fight with a power attack from the Two-Handed Sword and Keep Pressing. Do Not Run Away or you will die vs most classes.
