Fallout 76 – Guide to Run a Successful Store

I have a good proposition to run a successful store.

How to Run a Successful Store

All credit goes to Sr Humungus!

Have an empty camp, put the vendor machine without any foundation, a light, illuminating the area where the vendor machine is (night), a solar panel wiring the light and the vendor machine, and some floor decoration pointing where the machine is to help other players where is located.

About Items to Sell

Think what you want to sell, you can be like common players and sell common stuff or specialise on x stuff, there are costumers for all type of things.

Want to sell stuff for ppl starting? Then put screws, springs, nuclear material, acid and aluminium in bulk to sell, those are the most harder materials a newbie can farm for himself.

Want to sell script? Then put your weapons-armors at a rate of 1 script x 10-15-20 caps (prices are relative, each player is a world).

Want to sell rare stuff? Then things go a bit complicated, you must learn what will be the correct price, you must check external markets (like market76 or other player vendor machines) and get informed all the time to adjust prices, remember, selling rare stuff implies your customer will be (the major part) high lvl or veteran players, so, dont get cocky and put overpriced stuff in your vendor machine, they are not stupid.

Want to sell common stuff? A good way is like op is saying, standard price, also mind there are stuff so common that have no price like: the forest healing salve or ultracite PA pieces, they are not worth nothing.

I’m talking about ultracite PA pieces not mods.

And last, if you want to sell god rolls, ultra rare outfits or ultra rare plans? They are trade only items, and as the name suggests ppl wanting to trade them (this is important) DONT WANT CAPS as coin to exchange, because they are worth too many caps that will be impractical, so, to trade them, your first duty is knowing their price in caps (to have an idea of what you have or other stuff you want) and then try to exchange them for the other ultra rare stuff you want, remember, is always the buyer who will think if the deal is worth it or not.

Few Tips

  • Remember, your stuff is stored in your box, always check weight limit.
  • Dont go overpriced for crap stuff, learn if your stuff are worth it and what will be a correct price to sell, if you put your stuff overpriced and is crap you wont sell nothing.
  • How to go overpriced? easy, like in real life, sell stuff out of their event season, example? I’m selling from summer all winter event season stuff from last year a bit high, why? Because if a player want them at retail he/she must wait 6 months until get them.
  • Dont get angry if someone critiquise you or other players put their prices lower or higher because X reason, just do your stuff, is your cash not theirs.
  • Another important tip, if you want to trade only items, there is no formula to be 100% sure you did not get scammed, you can always record the trade, but it is the way it is.
  • About rare stuff, learn what is rare and what not and think accordly to put the right price, its not the same an ultracite calibrated shocks plan, a dense marine chest plan or shielded casual underarmor plan, all of them are expensive, but you must adjust the prices at the demand, as you see its not all about rarity.
  • Dont sell ammo, is a waste of space and thanks to beth, now ammo drops everywhere.
  • If you want to sell to newbies, remember they havent to many caps, dont get greedy.
  • Also, if you play on console, prices are lowered compared to pc, why? Dont know, on pc they are more expensive, maybe demand?

About selling half god rolls, you can sell them too, because god rolls are high end items and trade only items, half good rolls have their market too, just the same, learn how much caps are worth your stuff and put your price in the vendor machine, half god rolls arent god rolls but for a buyer maybe have an interest to purchase them.

And about mods, the same concept of rarity-demand, but with the additive to sell loose mods, example? enclave aligned flamer or enclave aligned sniper, they are on high demand now and price is expensive, how much? investigation and learn.

This is for op, personal camp names wont show in the map, you can change a camp name, but only visible by camp owner, other players only will see “your name account” CAMP.
