Guide to Leta Mercenary
By Daa
Skills
- On play: grants counterattack to melee allies including self.
- On enemy death: get force shield.
- Force shield expires on any mercenary: Leta gains attack.
About this merc
- Hilda’s shield expiry can only trigger the attack buff once. Commander shield expiry does not trigger this.
- If Leta takes lethal damage, she will never counterattack or gain a shield.
Playing with
- It’s not a bad idea to hit and kill a module so that Leta gets a shield to start with.
- Leta is great against Regina, being able to counter each multi-attack.
- Leta isn’t exactly a tanky melee; it’s quite easy to lose her shield. So if you run her make sure you have someone like Kitty to back her up.
Playing against
- Be careful when playing against Leta. Any ally death can give her a shield, so if you play Trixie into her, Leta can get a shield from a friendly module death, take a counterattack swing at Trixie, and get another shield back, all on your own turn.
- The counterattack buff to allies doesn’t matter 99% of the time, but there is that 1% where you get surprised. Try not to forget about it.
Summary
Leta’s stat gain is mediocre, which in turn makes her counterattack less appealing. Playing her reactively against a melee unit is fine, but leading with Leta will mean she will face ranged units, making her ineffective.
Hilda is a superior choice in most situations. C tier in lower leagues where she might be worthwhile if Leta is at a relatively high level; dropping to D tier in higher leagues.
