Warframe – The Ultimate Styanax Guide (2026)

Styanax Build Guide with Tips (2026)

Styanax is a versatile Warframe with strong Armor and Shield stripping, enemy grouping, Energy support, and Overguard generation. His abilities can support both weapon-focused builds and Final Stand setups.

Passive

Styanax gains 1% Critical Chance for every 40 Shields he currently has. The value updates dynamically with his current Shield values and includes Overshields.

The bonus is doubled for Spearguns, including Afentis, Ferrox, Scourge, Javlok, and Opticor Vandal.

The bonus applies to all weapon types, including Primary, Secondary, Melee, and Archguns. It also applies during Archwing missions.

Due to the relatively low conversion rate, the passive is a low priority to focus on. Some weapons also benefit very little from the additional Critical Chance.

Axios Javelin

Styanax throws a homing javelin that deals Puncture damage. The first enemy hit is impaled, while enemies along the javelin’s path also take damage.

Axios Javelin attempts to home in on enemies around the reticle.

When the impaled enemy collides with a surface, the javelin explodes, dealing Blast damage and creating a grouping vortex for 2 seconds.

Ability Duration increases the duration for which the initial target remains pinned, but does not increase the vortex duration.

Axios Javelin is a full-body animation when cast on the ground and temporarily stops Styanax’s movement. Casting it in midair preserves his momentum and causes him to hop upward.

Direct hits benefit from Universal Damage Bonuses such as Arcane Arachne and Nourish, but not from weapon-specific bonuses such as Steel Charge and Arcane Fury.

Axios Javelin cannot critically hit, even when Styanax receives flat Critical Chance bonuses from effects such as Arcane Avenger or Cat’s Eye.

Tharros Strike

Styanax sweeps his shield and releases a wave in a 135° frontal cone, hitting every enemy within range.

Enemies hit by Tharros Strike:

  • Take Impact damage.
  • Are briefly stunned for 2 seconds.
  • Become vulnerable to Finishers.
  • Have their Armor and Shields permanently reduced.
  • Restore Health to Styanax.

Tharros Strike fully strips Armor and Shields at 200% Ability Strength.

The ability is a full-body animation that interrupts movement and other actions while casting.

Enemies hit within 2.5 meters of Styanax are pushed back 5 meters. Neither the 2.5-meter trigger radius nor the 5-meter pushback distance is affected by Ability Range.

Rally Point

Styanax raises his Threat Level, drawing enemy aggro while granting himself, allies, and Companions passive Energy Regeneration.

Kills and assists restore Shields, and the restored Shields can overflow into Overshields.

Rally Point’s effect persists on affected allies for its duration even if they move outside the initial buff range.

Energy Regeneration does not function while channeling abilities.

Rally Point can be recast to refresh its duration and affect new allies within range.

The increased Threat Level is not consistent enough to protect Defense Objectives.

Final Stand

Styanax rises into the air and summons ethereal soldiers that briefly throw a volley of Axios Javelins at enemies.

The javelins are thrown at a fixed rate of 12 per second. Ability Duration increases the total number of javelins thrown and therefore increases the total casting time.

Styanax can move freely while airborne during Final Stand. Sprint Speed affects his movement speed.

Final Stand is a full-body animation and prevents Styanax from casting other abilities during the attack.

Direct javelin hits deal Slash damage with a 50% Status Chance. The javelins then explode when they impact an enemy or surface.

The explosions deal Blast damage and apply a guaranteed Slash proc to enemies within range.

Ability Strength increases Final Stand’s damage, while Ability Range increases the explosion radius.

Final Stand benefits from Universal Damage Bonuses such as Arcane Arachne and Nourish, but does not benefit from weapon-specific bonuses such as Steel Charge and Arcane Fury.

Final Stand cannot critically hit, even with flat Critical Chance bonuses such as Arcane Avenger or Cat’s Eye.

Javelin explosions have 0% Status Chance and cannot apply additional status effects beyond their forced Slash proc. This also prevents them from applying Viral from Nourish.

Augments

Axios Javelineers

Axios Javelineers causes Styanax to summon ethereal soldiers that throw 2 additional javelins alongside his own, resulting in 3 javelins per cast.

All 3 javelins create a grouping vortex on hit, regardless of whether an enemy was impaled.

Direct hits on enemies increase the vortex duration. The exact bonus scales with Ability Duration.

The augment provides much more consistent grouping and allows Styanax to position enemies more precisely.

Tharros Lethality

Enemies struck by Tharros Strike take increased Critical Damage.

The bonus is doubled for Spearguns, including Afentis, Ferrox, Scourge, Javlok, and Opticor Vandal.

The Critical Damage bonus scales with Ability Strength and stacks additively with other Critical Damage sources such as Vital Sense and Organ Shatter.

The bonus also applies to Operator Amps, including against the spectral forms of Thrax units if the debuff was applied before they transformed.

Tharros Lethality does not affect ability damage, including abilities capable of critical hits such as Flechette Orbs, Gyre, Ulfrun’s Descent, and Sporespring.

Intrepid Stand

Each javelin hit from Final Stand grants Overguard to Styanax. Allies within Affinity Range receive half as much Overguard.

Ability Strength increases both the amount of Overguard granted and the maximum Overguard cap.

Only allied Warframes and Companions receive the Overguard. Specters, Defense Objectives, and other allied NPCs do not benefit.

Overguard can still be generated from invulnerable enemies that can register hits, such as Arbitration Shield Drones.

Arcanes

Molt Augmented

Provides an overall stat improvement.

Arcane Expertise

Increases Shield capacity by converting Ability Strength, allowing Styanax to gain more Critical Chance from his passive.

Arcane Aegis and Arcane Circumvent

Provide additional survivability.

Arcane Truculence

Triggered by Intrepid Stand, allowing Styanax to consistently spread maximum Viral on enemies to improve Final Stand’s damage.

Arcane Arachne

Applies to Final Stand and Axios Javelin. It is a major improvement if not using Naramon for Lethal Levitation.

Weapon Buffing Arcanes

Possible weapon-focused options include:

  • Arcane Acceleration
  • Arcane Precision
  • Arcane Avenger
  • Arcane Awakening
  • Arcane Velocity
  • Arcane Fury
  • Arcane Strike
  • Arcane Rage
  • Arcane Tempo

Subsumes

Styanax can subsume either Final Stand or Axios Javelin.

Final Stand has received both direct and indirect nerfs since its introduction. The latest came with the Jade Shadows update, which shifted enemy durability away from Armor and toward Health. This reduced the effectiveness of Slash DoTs while also diminishing the value of Armor Stripping, both of which contributed to Final Stand’s damage output.

Final Stand struggles with low base numbers compared with dedicated weapon platform setups.

Axios Javelin primarily serves as a grouping tool. Without Axios Javelineers, its grouping is inconsistent, making it another common subsume choice.

Nourish

Nourish applies to weapons and Final Stand.

It provides extra Viral damage, with a chance to also apply extra Viral procs on direct hits while improving Energy gains from Rally Point.

Roar

Roar applies to weapons and Final Stand.

It double dips on Slash DoTs from Final Stand.

Weapon Buffing

Weapon-focused options include:

  • Xata’s Whispers
  • Shock
  • Wrathful Advance

Utility

Utility options include:

  • Silence
  • Evade
  • Omamori
  • Pillage

Archon Shards

Possible options include:

  • 1 to 2 Amber Shards for Casting Speed or Parkour Velocity
  • 1 to 3 Violet Shards for Melee Critical Damage or Primary Electric Damage
  • 1 to 3 Crimson Shards for Ability Strength or Ability Duration

General Tips for Styanax

Styanax has several methods of survivability.

Shield Tanking

Shield tanking can use Redirection or Arcane Expertise, Rally Point, and Adaptation.

Overguard Gating

Intrepid Stand provides Overguard and can be used for Overguard gating.

Shield Gating

Catalyzing Shields can be used for Shield Gating, as each kill grants the full gate timer.

Spearguns

Of the current selection of usable Spearguns, only Tenet Ferrox and Scourge Prime are worth considering.

Afentis has largely been limited to utility.

Final Stand Mobility

Styanax can improve his mobility during Final Stand with options such as:

  • Amalgam Serration
  • Rush
  • Speed Drift
  • Incarnon Melees

Final Stand Builds

The most common Final Stand setups differ primarily in their Energy economy.

Nourish allows the use of Blind Rage with less reliance on additional Energy support. Roar is instead used to increase damage by double dipping on Slash procs from Final Stand.

A subsumeless setup provides consistent grouping when using Axios Javelineers.

Arcane Arachne can be replaced with Molt Augmented if using Naramon for Lethal Levitation.

Open slots are flexible.

Nourish is not consistent enough with Viral procs to replace Arcane Truculence because the javelins only have a chance to apply Viral on direct hits.

If Energy economy is still an issue, Equilibrium can be added through a Shard or mod, or Streamline can be used.

Archon Stretch can help with Energy, but provides only a small Energy boost.

Other Energy support options include Zenurik Focus, Mystic Bond, Synth Deconstruct, and Lohk Surges.

Weapon Platform Build

Use Axios to group enemies before stripping them with Tharros Strike. Additional Ability Range can be used if desired.

Nourish combined with Rally Point removes the need for additional Energy support, making Archon Stretch unnecessary.

Flow is not necessary and can be replaced with an Archon Shard.

Open slots are flexible.

Catalyzing Shields allows kills during Rally Point to provide Shield Gating. At lower levels, the slot can instead be used for Adaptation or Redirection.
