What is the effect of butterflies on berries?
Each time a butterfly targets a bush, the grow time of the bush will be reduced by 5 seconds.
Examples (based on tests with blueberry bushes):
Amount of berry bushes | Amount of Butterflies | Time (min) | |||
Any | 0 | 20 | |||
12 | 8 | 18,5 | |||
4 | 80 | 11,3 |
How to get butterflies?
8 Butterflies can be spawned via the butterfly cage. Additionally butterflys spawn from Splunks house, but these seem to stick to the house constatly.
AI of Butterflies Explained
Butterflies can move to bushes and (decorative) flowers.
For there movement the following is true:
- They will try and cycle between flowers and bushes.
- If there are no bushes or flowers (depending on the current action in the cycle) a random location is choosen which is at max 3×3 fields away.
- If they pick the same bush/ flower after each other, they will instead pick a random location.
- At each plant they will wait between 5-12 seconds.
- For each tile between them an there target they need around 6.6 seconds.
What is the effect of bees on berries?
They most likely follow a logic similar to the butterflys. For more information on bees see Bulb Hives guide.
Efficiency of Layouts
The following are estimates and very simplistic examples:
…is bettter then:
Average random move distance < Average distance to flowers.
…is equal to:
Average random move distance = Average distance to flowers.
