This guide will help you use the minimum available space with maximum efficiency.
The Only Bedroom Your Survivors Need
To get maximum benefit, while doing minimum building – you want to build a 5×4 […or 4×5] room (Spacious Bedroom) for your survivors to sleep in.
Your survivors will receive the maximum bonus of +18 happiness.
I recommend you start buy building (1) 5×4 room for ALL your survivors to share, until you can expand out to individual rooms.
Additional info:
- Small Rooms: made of up-to 11 tiles.
- Bedrooms: 12 tiles – the start of a 5×4.
- Spacious Bedrooms: 5×4/4×5.
Note: Anything bigger does not grant additional bonuses (to my knowledge).
Clarification
A max bonus “spacious” bedroom need 20 tiles, in any shape. Cover the floor with carpet or similar.
Can also fill the room with most devices and storage, chimney/pipe too. Disturbed sleep though (only -3, but stacks) if others access the room at that time. 3×7 can be an efficient shape if to multi-purpose, 1 tile can always be sectioned to hallway etc.
