Range of Ungraded Card Market Values – Initial and Market Affected
Ungraded Card Market Values
Card market values are determined in two stages. An initial market value is generated when a save file starts, and daily market effects can then change the current market value.
Because the initial value is determined by random rolls, the same individual card can have a different starting value in different save files. This makes it difficult to compare card values between save files. Daily market effects can also cause the value of a card to change from day to day.
Initial Card Market Values
At the start of a save file, each card goes through a series of random modifier rolls. These modifiers are applied sequentially to the card’s base value, producing its initial market value.
The possible initial values for each card type are based on the overall minimum and maximum results of these random rolls. The actual starting value for a card can fall anywhere within its applicable range.
These values are primarily useful as a reference because card prices can change as daily market effects are applied.
Initial Value Calculation
The initial value can be determined through up to four calculation stages:
- First price
Base Price × (Rarity Modifier + Type Floor/Ceiling)This produces the minimum and maximum possible first-stage price based on the applicable random roll. - Second price
1st Price × (Rarity Floor/Ceiling)The result depends on the value obtained during the first stage. - Third price
2nd Price × (Expansion Floor/Ceiling)The result depends on the value obtained during the second stage. - Final price
3rd Price + (Rarity Modifier 2 × Border Multiplier × Rarity Floor/Ceiling 2)This provides a minor final adjustment to the card’s value.
Not every stage applies to every card. Some stages are skipped depending on the card’s type and rarity.

Exceptions
- The second price calculation only occurs for Gold and above, except for Blue Packs, where it is skipped.
- The third price calculation only applies to Destiny and Ghost.
- The final price calculation is skipped for Blue Packs.
Currency Conversion
The market values are listed in USD. The equivalent values in other currencies are:
| USD | Equivalent |
|---|---|
| $1 USD | €1 EUR |
| $1 USD | £1 GBP |
| $1 USD | C$1 CAD |
| $1 USD | ¥100 JPY |
| $1 USD | ¥2.5 CNY/RMB |
| $1 USD | A$2 AUD |
| $1 USD | RM2 MYR |

Daily Market Effects
Each day, additional random rolls can affect the current market value of individual cards. These market effects are determined separately for each card.
The market value is determined using the card’s initial value and its Market Change percentage:
MV = RoundToInt(IV × (1 + (MC% / 100)))
Where:
- MV = Market Value
- IV = Initial Value
- MC% = Market Change percentage
The Market Change percentage has the following limits:
- Minimum MC%: -80%
- Maximum MC%: +200%
This means the market value can range from 20% to 300% of the initial value:
- At -80% MC, the value is
0.2×the initial value. - At +200% MC, the value is
3×the initial value.
The calculations use decimal values internally before the final result is rounded to an integer.
Example: Katengu Ghost Foil
Suppose a Katengu Ghost Foil receives an initial value of $12,000. Its possible initial-value range is $5,798.16 to $36,486.60.
Using an initial value of $12,000:
- Minimum market value: $12,000 × 0.2 = $2,400
- Maximum market value: $12,000 × 3 = $36,000
The overall minimum and maximum market-value ranges are obtained by applying the minimum and maximum Market Change percentages to the minimum and maximum possible initial market values. The actual range for an individual card depends on the initial value randomly generated for that card.
There is a strong chance of a crash or rebound when MC% is -25% or +25%, so reaching the extreme market-value ranges is expected to be very rare.
These values and calculations are before the grading mechanic added in v0.60 is taken into account.
