The Front – Electricity Guide

Electricity Overview

A well-constructed power system is important to ensure survival and production. Electrical equipment, irrigation equipment, and advanced defensive structures all require electricity to function.

Proper power generation and proficiency in circuit construction will greatly improve your chances of survival.

Diesel Generator

Unlocked from the Technology tab of the Tech interface [O].

Diesel Generators are the first power generation equipment you will unlock, and require gasoline to generate electricity.

Bike Generator

Unlocked from the Technology tab of the Tech interface [O]. It must be powered by a human to generate electricity.

Wind Generator

Unlocked from the Technology tab of the Tech interface [O]. Wind Generators generate electricity based on the ambient wind speed.

The stronger the wind speed, the more power they will generate. The local wind speed can be viewed in the environmental status indicators in the upper-right corner of the main interface.

Solar Generator

Unlocked from the Technology tab of the Tech interface [O]. Solar Generators only generate electricity while receiving light.

The stronger the intensity of the light, the more power they will generate. Light intensity can be viewed in the environmental status indicators in the upper-right corner of the main interface.

Building Circuits

A basic circuit system consists of power generation equipment, circuits, and electrical equipment. For instance, you may use a a Diesel Generator, gasoline, an Electric Tool Pack, and fluorescent lights to generate light.

All of these can be unlocked from the Technology tab of the Tech interface [O].

Note: There is no cable recipe in The Front. While holding an Electric Tool Pack, you can directly pull cables from the output port of the generator that you are using and connect the other end of the cable to the input port of the device you want to power.

How to Build a Circuit:

  1. Place the Diesel Generator and fluorescent light you have crafted, and put gasoline in the Diesel Generator’s inventory.
  2. Equip your Electric Tool Pack and approach the Diesel Generator. The generator’s green output port will be highlighted.
  3. Click [LMB] on the output port to connect a cable. A green indicator line will appear.
  4. Approach the fluorescent light and move your cursor over its red input port, then click [LMB] to complete the circuit. It is important to note that all power generators and electrical equipment, as well as the input and output ports of switches, can only be connected to one cable.
  5. Move back to the Diesel Generator, press and hold [F] to interact with it, then click “Start” to power the fluorescent lights.
