(the) Gnorp Apologue – Explanation of Ranges

Ranges

Vulnerability Empowerment’s range is based on the range of Vulnerability itself, so it gives everything +2/+2. It also allows for ranges to go above 10. Every source of damage in the game has a range, like fire(without Popcorn) is 0-3. Directors increase range by 1 per director, so with 2 directors, you are effectively giving everything +4/+4 to range, so the range of fire would become 4-7.

Though it is possible(since it’s not directly mentioned), that it only increases the top end, which means that it might be like giving everything +2/+4, so fire’s range would actually be 2-7, which is much wider. It depends on whether or not they give everything +1/+1 or 0/+1.

Vulnerability isn’t ‘always on’, Missiles have to hit to apply it and then it only lasts so long. Vul, Acid, and Ice all have windows(except acid depending on your Garden, sometimes) where they aren’t being applied, Ice *lowers* Range(except with Frostfire, but the rock needs to be on fire which is yet more of a window for things to be weird), and then acid just multiplies damage so I don’t know if it’s tied to range.

Range is a neat mechanic, and it would be interesting to try to find a way so that Vuln would yeet everything into the stash, but it’s just super inconsistent at the moment.
