VIP Information
Firstly, there is currently a bug with the VIPs that was meant to be fixed but it’s currently still bugged for some people, so the fix is to sleep before midnight the night before the VIP day.
What Are the Special Visitors?
They are the VIPs that will visit your tavern on red dot days (you’ll see them on the calendar). They have a cute little star above their heads.
- In case it’s hard to see, the red dot is always on the bottom right corner, I’ve included an example where it’s obvious to help.
These visitors are pickier than others! Are you’re seeing a large amount of negative rep on VIP days or perhaps you may see very very little amount of positive rep? That could be why. When done correctly, you’ll see a really nice boost in reputation.
VIP days are basically going to be the same thing as going for the 50 customers achievement (though not as strict as it’s easy enough to make them happy without needing to get maxed out), please check out section below for more info on satisfaction.
You don’t have to be inside the tavern the entire day if you don’t want to be (the VIP doesn’t stay the entire day anyway).
Little fun note: You can see the VIP walking to the tavern if you’re outside before they arrive (while your tavern is open, of course). You can be a creepy stalker and follow him in for personal giggles.
Satisfaction & Maximum Occupancy
You’ll see your tavern’s satisfaction level and satisfaction bonuses on the tavern menu. Underneath your tavern’s name, the reputation level and your current maximum occupancy (this is your total after your satisfaction + base level). For example, at lvl 19, the occupancy goes up to +12 with prices going to +11 or 12%.
Notes:
- It’s not possible to get the bar to 100%.
- Even after reaching max occupancy of 50, you still need to get 50 inside your tavern for the achievement.
- It’s not possible to get 50 maximum occupancy before at least reputation level 19.
- Note: some have noticed getting it at 18 due to VIP days, so you may be able to get it when you only have 49 max occupancy, though this may be unintentional.
- While inside the tavern, you can use the tavern vision with V to see dirty spots and angry customers if that helps.
Gameplay Tips:
- At least 1 candle at each table.
- Varied menu (1 unique recipe = 1 variety, regardless of modifiers).
- Beers can give a max of 5 (4 taps + 1 pulled beer, must be different than taps).
- Clean tables and floors (staff helps with this when you can afford them).
- Helping out staff when/if they slow down (only necessary when going for maximum occupancy).
- Making sure the fireplace is on by 19:00 (you have about 5 in-game minutes or so for leeway), an icon will pop up in the lower right corner indicating if the tavern is freezing cold/burning up).
- Calming down or kicking out rowdy customers (you don’t have to deal with them right away, as you won’t get a big rep hit if you have to wait or are away from the tavern. You really only get rid of them right away when going for maximum occupancy).
- When going for max occupancy, it’s easier to not turn down any rentals (you can still haggle, and if you must, you can turn them down but just be careful doing it too much).
- Putting away the bird may also help make it easier to get to max occupancy (as a good bird may still be naughty).
I hope this was helpful to you!
