Quick Guide to Skills
There are three types of skills in Aion 2: Active, Passive, and Stigma.
All skills have levels. Active and Stigma Skills unlock additional Specialty Perks as they reach specific levels. These are referred to as Specialty Perks throughout this guide.
Active Skills

Active Skills can be leveled to 10 using regular skill points called Wisdom Stones. Wisdom Stones are obtained by:
- Leveling up
- Turning in Feathers from world completion activities
- Nightmare Shops
- Shugo Festival Shops
Additional skill levels can come from gear Stat Lines, the Daevanion Board, and Arcana.
Specialty Perks
Active Skills have up to five Specialty Perks. Each perk becomes available at a specific skill level, indicated by the number on its icon. You must equip the Specialty Perk in an available slot to use it.
The unlock progression is:
| Skill Level | Specialty Perks Unlocked | Available Slots |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 3 | 1 |
| 12 | 4 | 2 |
| 16 | 5 | 2 |
| 20 | 5 | 3 |
At level 8, the first three Specialty Perks become available and one slot is unlocked. Level 12 unlocks the fourth perk and a second slot, allowing two Specialty Perks to be equipped. Level 16 unlocks the fifth and final perk. Level 20 unlocks the third slot, allowing three Specialty Perks to be equipped simultaneously.
Prioritizing Active Skills
Every class has key level 20 Active Skills that are necessary for the build to truly come online. These should be an early priority.
Some classes rely particularly heavily on a single skill. For example, Gladiator’s Overhead Slam and Templar’s Judgment can each account for more than 60% of the class’s damage.
In the current Korean endgame at the beginning of Chapter 1 and the level 50 expansion, depending on the class, players generally want 2 to 5 Active Skills at level 20.
Global launch will likely have fewer Arcana cards available, which may make leveling skills more difficult. Because of this, prioritize two of your most important Active Skills early.
To reach level 20 on Active Skills, prioritize obtaining skill levels through Ring Stat Lines and Arcana.
Passive Skills

Passive Skills can be upgraded in the same way as Active Skills. Passive Skills do not have Specialty Perks.
Once your main Active Skills have reached level 20, focus on your key Passive Skills. Every class has key Passive Skills, and these can provide a significant amount of damage. Current endgame players in Korea are pushing some Passive Skills into the level 25 to 30 range.
Stigma Skills

Stigma Skills are special skills that generally have longer cooldowns. They have five available Perks that unlock as the skill level increases, and you can equip up to six Perks. The number available at global launch may be lower.
With Stigma Skills, you receive the benefit of all Perks as long as they have been unlocked through skill levels.
Stigma Skills use Stigma Shards for leveling and can be leveled to 20, which unlocks the final Perk.
After the Chapter 1 level 50 update, Stigma Skills can be leveled to 25. The final five levels require golden Superior Stigma Shards.
Stigma Shards
Stigma Shards are obtained by combining Unstable Stigma Shards, which come from a variety of PvE content. They can also be obtained directly using Abyss Points.
Abyss Points are mainly obtained through:
- Supply Requests
- Daily Duties
- Weekly Commands, which are contract-like quests
- Farming players or mobs in the Abyss
Superior Stigma Shards
Superior Stigma Shards are obtained when leveling from 45 to 50. Additional Superior Stigma Shards can be obtained by leveling other Stigma Skills to level 20.
You receive 1 Superior Stigma Shard for every Stigma Skill that reaches level 20.
When everything is maxed, you can have:
- 3 Stigma Skills at level 25
- 1 Stigma Skill at level 23
- The remaining Stigma Skills at level 20
Prioritizing Stigma Skills
Key Stigma Skills offer significant power when leveled. They generally provide major buffs and increase the effectiveness of key Passive Skills, amplifying both damage and support.
Support classes can be particularly dependent on specific Stigma Skill levels. Skills such as Undefeated Mantra and Light of Protection can significantly boost group performance.
