AION 2 – Pet Genus System Guide

Pet Genus

Pet Genus is a horizontal system that provides a lot of power. It consists of five boards:

  1. Cogni
  2. Fera
  3. Natura
  4. Varian
  5. Special

Each board has nine stat slots called Lines. Each Line has its own respective stat pool. As you increase your Insight, commonly referred to as Genus level, you unlock more Lines and gain the ability to roll higher-grade stats on those Lines.

When you click the yellow Analyze button, you roll random stats with random grades relative to your Insight level for all open Lines. You can lock a Line by clicking the lock icon to the left of the stat. The more stats you lock, the more expensive the next roll becomes.

The goal is to reach Genus level 10 on all five boards and then look for the best stats for each of the nine Lines on each board.

You can have up to three Genus presets.

How to Upgrade Your Genus Efficiently

Step 1: Level Each Board to 10

Level your board to 10 and ignore the stats you get. Do not lock any Line until you reach level 10.

There are two exceptions:

  • If progression on Global is too slow, making level 10 impractical to reach or requiring an unreasonable wait.
  • If you get a high Yellow or Orange BIS stat roll on Line 4. The relevant BIS stats are listed below.

Waiting until level 10 gives you the highest chance to roll the highest-grade Lines.

Step 2: Optimize the Board at Level 10

After reaching level 10 on a board, use Analyze with no stats locked until you roll the BIS stat on Line 4.

The highest-priority Line 4 boards are:

  1. Special: Double Chance
  2. Varian: Front/Back Damage Boost
  3. Fera: Weapon Damage Boost
  4. Cogni: Critical Damage Boost

Some players settle for lower-percentage Line 4 rolls for their first preset and then work toward higher-percentage rolls on a second preset.

A high Yellow roll can be higher than a low Orange roll.

You can use Auto Analysis by selecting Unique or Heroic Double Chance on Lines 3 and 9. Double Chance cannot roll lower than Unique.
