Mage Tips

Use haste, invis to dive or buff your barb/rogue. Magic missile is a staple, read your perks carefully. Ignite helps everybody.
You want one +1 Knowledge gear plus the Sage perk to have Haste, Invisibility, Magic Missile, Fireball plus one, 1 or 2? point spell. I use ignite. I forget the final tally.
Watch firelines and use haste+invis to position. You can use haste+invis to round up mobs and place them where you want. Call out fireballs to your teammates.
As you gain gear/knowledge you have more spell capacity and you can try chain lightning. I’m not a fan of the range and lightning spells seem to do squat against mobs. Great vs players tho. Ice bolt is slow, but has great range. Zap is mid range but the burn can be nice if you fire spec i guess. Slow is great, but haste is better.
Meditate always. You never know when a 3 way fight will break out and you will need every single spell you have. That’s why utility spells like ignite are nice, they save the bigger spells for tough mobs/players. Higher cost spells regen slower. That’s why ignite is nice. Good mileage for clearing.
If all is lost, run. Wizard is up there for best short term rabbit. Clever parkour and meditation goes a long way.
Grab every piece of + magic damage/power gear you can. Your damage climbs fast.
Books cast fast, have low move penalty and the cast animation is hard to interrupt but you can. Orb as highest move penalty, super easy cast anim and can use a dagger. Others are self explanatory. I like books. Keep something on you to break stuff.
