Spellcaster Minotaur Build
The Minotaur Mage build allows you to play an aggressive offensive melee mage because Strength contributes 0.5 Magic Power.
This build can be played around Ether spells such as Aetherfang Phalanx and Ripple, which reward you for fighting at close range. However, this setup takes a different approach by focusing on spell haste rather than a melee mage playstyle.
Future Minotaur-exclusive perks may further support this build when the level cap is increased, particularly Frostquake and Frostshock. Frostquake inflicts blunt damage tremor to chilled enemies randomly, while Frostshock provides better crowd control through a higher stun rate against chilled enemies.

Stats
Prioritize Intelligence and Memory. Some Physique should also be invested to provide additional survivability when taking hits.
This increases HP from approximately 270 to approximately 310, giving the build a little more room for mistakes during combat.

Spell Haste
The main goal of the build is to accumulate as much spell haste as possible.

With enough spell haste, you can cast four Fireballs within approximately six seconds. This is considerably faster than the standard three-second cooldown available to a Minotaur Mage without spell haste.
The increased casting speed allows certain spells to be used repeatedly at a much higher rate, which becomes increasingly important as the build progresses.

Skill Tree
The current skill tree focuses on acquiring as much spell haste as possible.
The planned priorities include:
- Frostquake: Provides a chance to hit chilled enemies with blunt damage tremor.
- Flamefeed Frenzy: Consumes burning and grants stacks of Haste speed. This also means you will want to acquire Inferno at some point in the future.
- Frostshock: Provides a higher stun rate against chilled enemies.
The remaining points can be used for some Armor passives to improve survivability against physical attacks. Movement Speed is also useful for slightly better kiting.

Active Abilities
The build primarily uses non-channeled spells. Channeled spells are avoided because they root you in place.
Frost Glide
Frost Glide replaces Minotaur Charge.
It provides massive opening damage and is particularly effective for quickly clearing the pods during the Forest Throne fight. Additional gliding speed improves its effectiveness by allowing you to cover more distance and kite enemies more easily when necessary.
Fireball
Fireball remains part of the build because it provides decent DPS.
It is upgraded to have an AOE effect, with no further modifications other than damage increases. Another option would be to invest the upgrades elsewhere for more damage across the board.
Fireburst
Fireburst provides a self-centered AOE attack. It is particularly useful when fighting enemies that require you to remain nearby, such as Treant, as well as during boss fights.
Ripple
Ripple is a centered moving AOE that periodically deals damage.
It works particularly well alongside Frost Glide, allowing you to create a massive damage spike when clearing groups of weaker enemies.
Aetherfang Phalanx
Aetherfang Phalanx is effective because it can remain active while you move around. It also deals massive damage, making it a useful spell for this build.

Set Bonuses
The main set bonuses currently prioritized are Convergence 3/6 and Pyreweaver.
Convergence
Use the 3/6 Convergence bonus. There is no point in progressing to 6/6 because none of the spells used by this build consumes more than 30 Concentration at once.

Pyreweaver
A full Pyreweaver set is useful if available because its 15% damage bonus against burning enemies is very helpful for this build.

Aethershade
Aethershade can be considered if you want additional Ether Damage to increase the damage of Ripple and Aetherfang Phalanx.
However, the 6/6 Aethershade bonus is useless if you do not have a way to inflict Poisoned or Bleeding. As a result, this set is more suited to a melee hybrid Battlemage Minotaur approach using the North tree.
Pets
Pet selection is somewhat flexible for this caster build.
Moon Cat
Moon Cat periodically grants Concentration during combat, effectively functioning as an infinite free Mana potion.
However, this build can use a passive that increases Concentration regeneration when burning is applied to enemies. With this setup, two basic attacks can provide massive Concentration restoration.
Do not perform the third attack because its animation can root you in place. Be very careful to stop after two basic attacks.
Moon Cat remains a valid option despite this alternative source of Concentration.

Fangra Cub
Fangra Cub can be considered when using the Aethershade set.
It does not provide a guaranteed way to inflict Bleed, but it gives the build an avenue for applying Bleed. It also provides a small amount of periodic DPS.

Silver Cat
Silver Cat periodically grants a bubble shield during combat, providing additional survivability.
War Cat
War Cat can be useful for a melee Minotaur caster using the Blazing Wrath passive. Blazing Wrath creates a fire aura when Rage is spent, while War Cat provides Rage.
However, spending Rage requires going North or South on the skill tree and focusing entirely on other spells.

Consumables
For the drink buff, Nature’s Calm Tonic is recommended because it provides additional Concentration.
The food buff is flexible. Prefer additional Concentration or HP depending on the situation.

For the quickslots, use:
- Health Potion
- Mana Potion
- Oil Flask +5
- A flask capable of cleansing the debuff most commonly encountered from the enemies you are farming or fighting
Oil Flask
Without an Oil Flask, your burn can reach approximately 8, or around 12 with very good timing.

With an Oil Flask, you can maintain a burn of 12 for a prolonged period.
