Human Ember Cascade Magician: Solo Play
This build focuses on applying Burn stacks with Fireball and triggering Cascade through normal ranged attacks while using a Crossbow.
Skill Tree
If you have 40% or more Crit Rate, remove Scorched Earth Hunter and Kindling Strike from the north of the tree and take the 2 Crit Damage nodes on the right instead.

Core Stats
Prioritize the following stats:
- Fire Damage
- Magic Damage
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
- Fire %
- Fire Piercing
- Magic %
- Magic Piercing
Luxury Stats
Useful additional stats include:
- Spell Haste, particularly enough to reduce Dragon Breath to a 5-second or lower cooldown, or to use a different Fireball mode
- Burn Duration
- Attack Speed
- Burning Dmg %
- Max Burn
Defenses
Prioritize:
- HP, with 400 to 500 considered sufficient
- Stamina, since dodging means taking no damage
- Move Speed
Character Stats
Physical
Adding 10 points to Physical provides enough HP to help reach around 400 HP without Lifebloom. The exact amount can be adjusted according to preference.
Intelligence and Adventure
Aim for approximately a 2 INT to 1 ADV ratio, or something close to it. Investing entirely into Intelligence is worse because of how experience costs work per stat.
Use a reset potion to find the best ratio for the highest Magic Damage.
Memory
14 Memory is used for the Meteor prerequisite, although less may be sufficient.
Concentration
Concentration per hit is more than enough to sustain the build’s needs.
Energy
Use either +5 Energy or 0.
Other Stats
Other stats are not important. Leave them at zero unless they are needed to play a particular spell or skill.

Cascade and Weapon Setup
Cascade only seems to trigger when using a normal ranged attack. Rain of Arrows was tested but did not trigger Cascade.
Use Weapon Swap until you are in Crossbow mode. Then remove the skill from your skill bar so you can stay in Crossbow mode.
Skills
Fireball
Fireball is the build’s spam Burn application. It provides AoE mob clearing and is the main Burn applicator.
Among the 3 choices, take the middle fast-cooldown option first until you have enough Spell Haste to use the other 2. Staying with the middle option is also fine if you prefer the comfort of spamming Fireball for less direct damage.
You can choose to take only +1 Burn application, making it 5 instead of 7 Burn per Fireball, which is enough to reach the 10 Burn stacks needed for Cascade.
Fire Breath
Fire Breath is the build’s burst damage ability. Cast it on cooldown against bosses and when you want to remove one enemy from a group as quickly as possible.
This build does not use Consume Burn, which is a different build and is believed to be more suited for group play.
Getting Fire Breath to a 5-second cooldown is the ideal goal.
Conflagration
Use Conflagration to spread Burn between Fireball casts to enemies outside Fireball’s AoE range.
It also provides an additional proc for the Enflamed gearset.
Fireburst
Fireburst becomes less useful over time, but it is still an acceptable ability to use when surrounded.
It has a niche use against the mobs in the Swine King fight.
Fifth Skill
The fifth skill can be anything.
Gear
Do not bottleneck yourself by forcing a set bonus when the substats of an off-set piece better match the stats you need for damage. Prioritize the correct stats over gearset bonuses when they provide better returns.
A decent gear piece at +11 has either:
- 3 core stats
- 2 core stats and 1 luxury stat
For Chest and Belt, use whatever pieces you have, as these slots tend toward very defensive rolls.
Early Game Gearsets
Easy-to-obtain options include:
- 2-piece Burnward
- 6-piece Pyreweaver
- 4-piece Enflamed
Maximum Damage Gearset
As of September 20, 2026, Pathweaver might be bugged.
If Pathweaver works as intended, use:
- 6-piece Pyreweaver
- Pathweaver
More Defensive Setup
For a less glass-cannon setup, use:
- 5-piece Lifebloom
- 3-piece Pyreweaver, Pathweaver, or Quickstep
- 4-piece Enflamed
Flaming Oil and Oil Flask
Oil helps fire damage. Consider using Flaming Oil and Oil Flask when you can.
