Doomsday: Last Survivors – Guide to TC: Speedup VS Train Troops

TC: Speedup VS Train Troops

I recently learned that in TC, upgrading troops from T5 to T6 gives more points in phase 5 (train troops) than in phase 4 (speed up).

So I asked myself where does this come from and what is really worth it?

And here are my findings:

Training time is linear, i.e. training from 0 to T6 takes the same amount of time as going from 0 to T5 and then upgrading to T6.

Training time can be shortened, but TC points for speed up are constant.

TC points for training of higher tiers increase more than the time required.

Note: It should be noted that you will only get the difference points for trained troops, e.g. upgrading from T5 to T6 only give you the points for T6 minus the points for T5.

Since the point gain increases sharply at higher tiers and the training time can be shortend at constant points, there are break-even-points depending on the training buff.

If your training buff is higher than these points, you will get more points in phase 5 than in phase 4 for the same amount of trained troops and this can also be the upgrade from T4 to T5:

Important note

If you’re reading (and understanding) the above and now think it’s smart to train T5 in Phase 4 and upgrade to T6 in Phase 5, you’re wrong. Because the phases are directly behind each other, it makes sense to speed up 52k T6 (training extension) per troop type in phase 4 and pick it up in phase 5, because you get double points credited for the part T5 to T6.

This applies until there are more than twice as many points (+100%) for the upgrade as for speedup, and this is the case for T5 to T6 with +91% training speed and more. Otherwise, the procedure only makes sense for extra speedups you want to spend.
