Very important

Do not rush. Proceed with care. The jungle is full of dangers and even small ones can kill you. Watch out for the small magnifying glass symbol down left. If it shows up, check your body.

When you start roaming, make basic bandages from molinera leafs as soon as you find such a plant. Refine some of the bandages to special ones by adding ash (from burned down campfires), lily or tobacco leafs. There are more, but these are sufficient to treat all injuries that can occur. Only those bandages can be applied to injuries that will really work, so you will see if you have chosen the correct one.

I always carry this pharmacy with me:

  • 3-5 bandages.
  • 2 ash bandages.
  • 2 lily bandages.
  • 2 tobacco bandages.
  • 5 fishbones (for removing worms).

Some fruits and mushrooms have healing properties, too. Eat them to find out more. Bone soup is great against fever. Infected wounds can be treated with maggots (which you can either find or harvest from rotten meat).

Another tip

Armor. This will not show up in your notebook until you have crafted one. My first play-through I did without any armor because I did not know it exists, but with it it’s much easier.

You will need four of them (legs and arms). Basic armor cane be made of one palm leaf and three lashes. Add three sticks or three bones to the recipe, and it gets really good. I always use bone armor.
