How to Fix

You’re supposed to have enough Relation to learn Steal and get the Sect Accessory when you first join. If you skipped sparing with the Girl at the start, you might not have enough Relation.

The only normal resolution is to get Level 3 Fame.

Or, if you don’t mind a cheesy method:

You can enter Manual Battle mode at the entrance to the cave before the guards stop you. Then in Battle Mode you need to run deeper into the cave. Check the Eyeball icon next to the Speed button on the Upper right to see where the boundary is. Run outside of the boundary then Retreat. Then you will be in the cave like normal and lose 4 Courage.

The guards will chase you, so make you don’t fight back otherwise everyone will hate you. With enough HP and speed, you can make it inside.
